  1. They really should have lost in the end. Everton had a 4v2 chance with a minute remaining and failed to even get a shot off. Everton are programmed to just defend, so it shouldn't be surprising that they were playing for their fifth draw in seven league games.
  2. I'm expecting a tight encounter that come could down to whether Jackson can take his chances or not. That's a joke, right? Liverpool's starting front three are in a different league to us.
  3. Rumours have it that Maresca was never keen on signing him, and the club "convinced" him about going ahead with it, so these sorts of headlines don't surprise me. If a possible attacking target became available, we shouldn't be opposed to letting him go.
  4. What else is he going to say about someone who was once a fellow colleague of his? He's useless and has only won league titles in England because he's part of a corrupt organisation. Cruyff changed football; I don't believe Pep did. Not sure who the haters are around here. All I can say is, City's current form with the highest-paid player in the league is worse than that of relegation candidates. I agree with the last bit, though - if he stays, they'll be back amongst the high flyers in the Championship, if they are lucky.
  5. Best players to grace the league in recent years. Neither Mou or Conte want to take the blame for the latter despite both playing a part. The one player (from that bunch) we bought back.... Lukaku 😔
  6. He wasn't Liverpool's main PK taker either (Milner was).
  7. He could sit out the rest of the season and would probably still be the favourite of player of the season (Palmer is the only one that could compete by May). The number of records he has broken is unreal. Shearer might even be worried should Liverpool give him an open chequebook.
  8. Talk will come up about Jackson again. We didn't take two big chances, so we only have ourselves to blame, antifootball or not. Maresca didn't do much to help us either today.
  9. No idea how Sancho played the entire 90 mins. Two points dropped
  10. That's unreal. The ref has had to stop the game at multiple points because of players fighting.
  11. It should have happened at HT. Everton are suspect when running back to their goal, so Madueke's pace would give them real problems. I'd think about bringing Guiu at some point soon as well.
  12. Either way, we really shouldn't be talking about this in the future. Hopefully, he can make amends like he did last week.
  13. We certainly should be ahead, Not sure Guiu would have done that, though. I had a feel prior to KO that Guiu could be the match winner late on. If we don't score in by 70 mins, I really hope Enzo uses him. A poacher would have finished at least one of them. Someone like Wood.
  14. Goodison Park is a coin flip. We either breeze it or put in a limp performance. It might only be for a few hours, but it can be said enough about the importance of getting a win that would see us go top (crazy to think).
  15. Their first away win against them in 18 years.
  16. At this point, just get a list of former City youth players. We already have a few on the books and been linked with a number of others.
  17. I didn't ask that nor mention it. City are going through a period that we have NEVER experienced over the past two decades.
  18. I highly doubt it, especially with the verdict due in Feb/March about all those charges. Signing that extension looks more stupid by the day. Pep has had an open chequebook at City from the moment he walked in the door. If City is found guilty of most, if not all, charges, his entire time in England will be tarnished. When did we lose 8 in 11 games? I'll wait. Teams were still struggling with the financial effect COVID had. A lot has changed in three years, with the league as a whole probably being the strongest it has ever been in terms of talent.
  19. To be honest, I believe most will agree. Aside from his first season at City, he's generally had everything his own way and doesn't know what to do when Plan A fails. There's no taking that away from him. He's broken records everywhere he's been, so this period will probably be forgotten soon, whether he remains at City or takes an INT job. On a side note, some of his squad choices still baffle me. Going into a season with Haaland as your sole CF is a notable one (80 minutes gone in today's game, and he hasn't had a touch in Villa's box).
  20. As I mentioned during the Shamrock game, he could be a really useful player to bring on late in games against tired legs for the reason you mentioned.
  21. City's dire form is showing signs of why Pep has never stayed at a club for a prolonged period. It's surely getting to a point where Pep's future is up for debate despite what he has won. Even during Mou's darkest days here, we never went through form as bad as this.
  22. Appreciate the information. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens during the Winter window.
  23. I don't know what the situation is with our key players being excluded. I'd imagine Palmer & co will be added for the KO stages if multiple changes are permitted.
  24. Servette vs Chelsea | UEFA Conference League 2024/25 | UEFA.com Edit - I see it was answered already. I mentioned it prior to qualification and concur with what you said—anything but a European triumph (first side to win all three titles) would be a failure, no matter how you view it.
  25. The only thing stopping us would be ourselves losing concentration or underestimating sides. We do have an L already to our European campaign thus far but have come a long way in recent months.
