They qualified for CL in the last two seasons. He's made them more competitive with the help of funds (€100m+ along with players like Sanchez still on a hefty wage). You have to take everything into consideration. They failed to beat Slavia Prague at home & lost to a Barca B side that had nothing to play for. C'mon on.
There'd have been even more uproar about inexperience had he joined. Not to mention, we would have probably sacked him the moment things went sideways.
I don't think he's done anything revolutionary. Failed to get out a rather average CL group despite having fate in their own hands and still seem a way off Juve IMO. If Lazio can keep the momentum going, I think they would be a better shout to make things interesting. That would be something. Nagelsmann's stock would be through the roof if that happened.
He'd still be rotated rather than being a certified starter (right now as I previously mentioned). I believe the language barrier could be the deciding factor more than anything for someone of his age. Either way, we can't cope with one backup CF and most at the club know that.
Still can't see how a strike pairing costing over €170m+ would just be dropped in favour of him, not to mention Costa probably kicking up a fuss too. I guess we'll know by next week at this time anyway.
Unless it's actually coming out of the player's mouth, I don't take much notice of reports. If he wants to play, there's much more chance of that happening here as things stand.
Pleasant sight to see him back training with the team. Hope he is given as much as needed to get back into the swing of things & isn't rushed back like plenty of others this season.
I was being sarcastic. I wasn't a fan of his at Fiorentina, so I only felt one way once he signed. I'd honestly love to know how many first choice targets we've actually signed since Conte was first appointed. I would hazard a guess at 0 to 1.
I just see us ruining their parade somehow. CL talk is a big ask, but we do have to go to Anfield where more will arguably on the line for us. End their unbeaten stretch along with avenging Alonso's goal which ended our unbeaten home record in the process.
I personally think the tie isn't a foregone conclusion. They can be got at, but more will depend on what state we're in when it comes around. Spurs tbh. If William Jose can fill Kane's void temporarily, what's stopping them?
