  1. The Santos situation is two fingers to all players who were out on loan hoping for a chance here (Veiga, Lesley, Petrovic, etc). If Maresca has had no impact on this, it makes this decision more infuriating.
  2. After the events at the Copa America last year, the USA need as much preparation as possible before they welcome fans in their millions next year. I believe they've lowered the prices for the opening game three times. Maybe pricing them so they are affordable for people OUTSIDE of the States would have been smart.
  3. They have already made it known that they view this as an extension of the 24/25 season. Santos is the only player included who was out on loan last season (Slonina's loan was terminated in Jan due to injury).
  4. At least Emenalo or whoever identified three of the best players over the last 5-10 years for peanuts (Salah, De Bruyne, & Thibo). I highly doubt this Football manager approach will reap one WC star, let alone three.
  5. There's normally always a bit of truth in these rumours. How much is the debatable part.
  6. Who on earth thought it was smart to tell him he'd be part of the squad to begin with? Shit like this will have players regretting making the switch before even playing the game.
  7. On this one occasion, I actually get where the club is coming from. Milan are just trying to take advantage of the CWC deadline. Let them have an unhappy player and stop doing dealings with them. It's very straightforward. Petrovic being excluded is the odd decision (they view this as a 24/25 tournament regarding loan players yet add Santos to the squad). Idiotic choices like this are what annoy me most.
  8. Playing for a Championship side and a PL side are two completely different things. There's a reason he saw most of his playing time in Europe's third tier club competition.
  9. The manager wanted KDH..................
  10. What are they paying him per week, though? There's more than just a flat fee.
  11. That's why Inter Miami were invited, yeah? Huge history and known worldwide 😃 They might be no names to someone based in Europe with limited knowledge about stuff across the globe. River Plate & Boca are bigger names than almost all the European sides participating. The snobbery around anything non-European is something else. Expanded WC should be a joy in 12 months time.
  12. Why? It should be a fair competition for all. Whether FIFA likes it or not, lesser known clubs (Al Ahly, for example, the most successful club in world football) will reach the KO stages. What's the point of teams getting to that stage only to go out and spend £100m+ to increase their chances?
  13. Such a bizarre set up. It literally benefits the top sides at the tournament.
  14. I'm sure Allegri's appointment is playing a part. He probably had hope that working with him again might change his mind. Felix deal should have been enough of an indicator for current management, tbh. As others have reported, clubs know we have at deadline, and they are trying to take advantage any way possible. If we don't get this done for the CWC, the club should walk away.
  15. We are partially to blame. How many times have we loaned players to Italian clubs for peanuts with no obligations? Stop doing business with them unless it's in our favour.
  16. He's the modern day Ben Afra/Nasri. The talent is there in boatloads, but his application is the issue. Pep might be able to sort that side of his game out & get a De Bruyne replacement in the process.
  17. Starting for Brazil in Ancelotti's first game in charge. KO in under 20 mins.
  18. Talent wise, he's probably the best teenager to play the game (Pele might be in the eyes of those around his time).
  19. They are playing hardball, that's it. It seems like we're partially to blame with an insult offer as well.
  20. They are getting a hefty fee for Reijnders and Hernandez is supposedly off to Saudi. I doubt they need THAT much.
  21. As with any Chelsea signing, my initial feelings are cast aside. He's now a Blue, so I'm hoping he hits the ground running. He will prove to be a steal if he can have half the impact Palmer has had since joining.
  22. I had Maignan in mind when I made the comment. We wouldn't be signing a GK of his calibre to bench him. If the move does actually materialise, we could certainly alternate during the group phase (providing we are in a good position).
  23. Exactly what I was thinking. For that type of money, we should be going after WC talent. Kudus, while playing for a struggling West Ham team, has been far too inconsistent.
  24. I feel like it will have to be Jorgensen. Penders is supposedly meant to be part of our CWC squad, but it would be stupid to have him rot on our bench at a crucial time in his development.
  25. It's three or four years too late, in my opinion. He's not the GK he used to be.
