How can Pulisic and almost all of America complain about lack of playing time with horrid performances like this.
-
So wasteful Broja would have. The decision to leave him on the bench is baffling.
-
I was shocked to hear that his debut for Wolves was his first game in 2022. If this backline gets rolled by him, they shouldn't turn up on Tuesday.
-
I'm worried about the number of changes. I know Wolves might be in awful form & without a manager, but they still have a good squad that could punish us.

There's a difference between going for top defenders & overpaying for ones that aren't. Our CB targets in the summer got progressively worse, starting with de Ligt & ultimately ending up with Fofana, so it almost makes a number of your points void, as we ended up with good players/downgrades in the end anyway. Comparing our situation to City's is totally irrelevant. I couldn't hate anything more than comments seemingly presuming my thoughts were solely based on his short time at City. At £15m~ he would have been a great signing for a number of reasons, not at £40-50m, which is why I made the comment to begin with. It's called depth, as we'll be back to Azpi in a matter of weeks. Also, I completely disagree with the last bit, so we'll have to agree to disagree.

A salary cap is needed urgently.

Liverpool play Arsenal too. It could potentially be another good weekend if we get the job done.
-
We aren't playing as well as we did that night, but this match brings flashbacks of Juve last season. Another dominating performance over Italian opposition at a cost (Fofana). There shouldn't be any question about him being the best all-around RB.

It's nice to see some tactical flexibility. The one downside is that Mount isn't joining Havertz on the bench.

This summer was a very unique one & our shambles of a window, for the most part, proved that. Boehly arguably overspent on every first team signing to try to make a statement right away, which certainly isn't looking like good business as things currently stand. We have to hope this move to younger players can bridge the gap between the top & prove to be fruitful. He isn't exactly a nobody (Swiss international for quite some time, plenty of European experience, etc). As an option, it should have been a no-brainer, considering what I mentioned & Dortmund's eagerness to sell. We decided to actively go after Kimpembe ahead of him. That in itself is where the problem lies. A number of those targets were never realistic options, all considered, so I have no idea why we wasted time going after them. It's hard to hate Boehly's approach in his first window for obvious reasons, so if Fofana & KK turn out to be massive flops, it'd better be a lesson learnt. Gvardiol is the one we need to do everything to sign (I didn't realise his clause was that low either) & become astute buyers rather than slaphappy ones going forward.

Akanji is someone we should have been all over. Look at what we spent on Fofana and KK compared to him.
-
Napoli's transfer business during the summer was second to none. They seem to have struck gold with each signing.
-
Isn't that meant to be Mount's role? It's getting to the stage where the club are going to have to decide what to do, as he's stagnated or maybe even regressed, depending on who you're speaking to. There's no vocal point or real presence there. If Leao bulks up a bit, which I've mentioned previously, my thoughts would change slightly in regards to that potential frontline.

I'm talking in general. He played well in a number of cup games last season, kept a clean sheet home & away against Spurs and most recently, kept the score somewhat respectable against Zagreb. He has flaws in his game that anyone & their dog can point out, but I can't think of a goal that's been a direct result of his inability or self-inflicted. I'd be more than happy to be proven wrong, though.
-
I'm talking about recent months, not since he joined. Is your memory even shorter where Mendy is concerned?
-
To be honest, it's hard to think of a time where Kepa has really been at fault (Carabao Cup wasn't on him) when called upon.
-
They are, but they have players that generally cause Arsenal problems, along with a very favourable record. Defensive mistakes (largely from TAA) have been the issue, so it will be interesting to see if Klopp decides to push him forward.
-
I don't see four sides bettering us. Arsenal's form will drop, starting against Liverpool.
-
Normalcy resumes for United. Their brief "title challenge" talk will die down.
-
We offered little going forward in the second half, but a moment of magic seals the three points. A big result considering two rivals have dropped points thus far & probably a third tomorrow. Onto a huge CL tie.
-
It had to be him! Nice to see someone willing to shoot from outside the box. We need to be solid now.
-
A striker on the scoresheet. Finally!
-
This CB pairing is suicidal.
-
It's hard to see what this side possesses; no strength, no character, a lack of creativity, etc.
-
Massive chance wasted by Mount. Free header & somehow misses the target.
