Sterling decided to leave for a starting place instead of being forced out. He probably could have happily played a similar role to Mahrez or Grealish. I'm not sure why that's relevant, though.

My comment was in general. We can't press like crazy when we have the likes of Silva, Jorgi, Azpi, and now Auba as starters, more often than not. With regards to the bolded - Chalobah, Kepa and Pulisic were seen as surplus to requirements not so long ago, and the manager thinks bringing on Ziyech was a smart idea. We've lacked fight for years now, and the players we've brought in don't have any either.

That's the side effect of playing players that probably don't want to be here/wanted to leave a number of weeks ago, plus those that are aging. Due to their energy and hunger, Broja & Gallagher are two players that should be starting.

It's hard to watch games like this where we're the victims of our own downfall. There were a boatload of chances that could have actually made things interesting. If I see Cucu fielded as a LCB again, I'll be quickly rethinking my thoughts on Potter.
-
Gallagher has been the sole bright spot.
-
Cucu is playing at LCB. He's accountabe for those "schoolboy errors".
-
It's becoming tiresome to say the same thing during each game, but if Potter keeps fielding Cucu at LCB and shoehorning anyone in those WB positions, he'll be gone before the season's over. I really expect more from him in that regard. Not learning from clear & obvious mistakes.
-
Potter hadn't lost a game, and De Zerbi had yet to win one. The headlines were already written. We bought Cucu. How's that working out?

RLC scored an OG.

Pathetic attempt at a pass by Mount.
-
You could say the same about Pulisic. I thought these "square peg" days were over, but it's the same old story.
-
He's expecting different results. 🙄

Gallagher could have a brave

Havertz is leading the line, it seems. I hope he's a presence today & takes a few shots from distance.
-
I believe him moving to Spain was always a cert, with RM being the ideal choice considering the rise of Vini & Rodrygo.
-
Leao doubles Milan's lead. That's top spot all but sealed.
-
He has some bite about him as well, which is something we've been lacking upfront since Costa left.
-
Progression sealed with a game remaining. Nice to see Havertz offer something tonight. He scored a cracker at Wembley too, so I don't know why he doesn't shoot from distance more often. We were also defending CL champions. Hard to forget.
-
Auba should be tucking that away with ease.
-
Kova only scores crackers.
-
How does Havertz warrant a start? That's my main takeaway rather than Pulisic getting a deserved start. Don't get me started on the Cucu LCB "experiment" .
-
I'd like Broja & Pulisic to start this one. Potter needs to give chances to those that impress during short cameos.
-
Not a chance unless Ancelotti has a sudden desire to retire. It seems like he's a given for the French NT.
-
If we must lower the standard of targets, I'd prefer us to go after Mitrović.

We're lopsided without James & the drop between him and the two you mentioned is staggering. The fact that we still lack any attackers of note just emphasises that. There are so many issues within our squad that it would take too long to go through them.
