  1. I suppose you (and The Skipper) are right about Cech's woes last season, but Cech in his earlier seasons made crosses look much easier to manage, especially when he was regarded the best, and our defence looked solid. He was a much younger keeper then. Courtois is at the same age, and given his experience, you'd expect him to be doing the same. Also, if you're making it priority to catch the ball, at least call for it, so that the defender won't run into you. If it's the opposition running into the keeper, then it's obviously the defender's fault for not marking him well enough. Typical lack of communication.
  2. Not sounding like a "Cech Lover" here, but as a reviewer of matches Cech has played for us, I've never seen him flail at any cross, and even if he has, it's been on the rare occaision. I've seen Courtois do it 3 times in the last 2 games, one of which cost us a goal (vs City). I'm just saying... Tibbo really needs to work on swallowing those crosses.
  3. JESUS COURTOIS!!! Has he forgotten to hold onto the ball when a cross is made???
  4. Oscar has been absolutely USELESS!! Stick Willian in the middle and replace Oscar with Cuadrado!
  5. Couldn't ask for a better goal! Nicely done by Hazard!
  6. In terms of form, we should win this.. even though our record at Villa Park is awful.
  7. All beneficial for Arsenal.. that's why I'm a little pissed off about this result ... Southampton 0-1 Swansea
  8. Watching them today against Arsenal, they couldn't have looked more useless if they tried! If things go our way we can get a win at Villa Park, but I know it won't be as straightforward as I think. We always like to make it difficult for ourselves!
  9. I couldn't give a flying fuck about Arsenal, even if the rest of my family supports them. I care about the fact that we're 5 points clear at the top of the table. Arsenal are just having this "fun run". They'll finish 4th again.
  10. That's the best way you can tell the glory hunters from the true fans I say.
  11. Nothing. The problem is some fans have trouble appreciating it, because he's wearing a shirt that rivals ours..
  12. I've never lost any respect for Lampard, even if he is playing for City. We should never forget the service he gave when we won so much silverware. He was an integral part of everything, therefore he is a part of our history. Anyone who decides to hate on him, should take a look at themselves. It's those people who go down to the level of Arsenal fans, who have since decided to hate on some of their world class players who have left them, most noticeably Fabregas. Cesc never failed to compliment his former club for making him the player he is today, following our 2-0 win over them earlier this season, and it was Arsene Wenger's decision not to re-sign him before we stepped in, yet they hate him because he belongs to us.. just shows you the level Arsenal fans are at. So Lampard scored against us at the Etihad. That doesn't change anything. To me, he is still a Chelsea legend, but on that day, he was contracted at City to try and beat us. He was there to do his job, just like any other player who is contracted to the club. I would love it if Lampard came back to us to take on a coaching role. He would be an outstanding cult figure to the younger generation and they will all look up to him, and learn from him.
  13. Cuadrado is a right winger, not a right back! Anyway I thought the idea of signing Cuadrado was so that he'd give firm competition to Willian, whom at the moment, has been shit... Secondly, there's no way Ivanovic can be dropped at the moment, we need someone who can play there naturally. There's been talk of Micah Richards joining on a free in the summer from Man City, but much as that would be frowned upon by some people here; deeming it as ridiculous and impossible, he is English..
  14. Well, just watched the first half of Arsenal vs Villa. Looks like Arsenal are sadly getting another 3 points as Villa are utterly useless! You can clearly tell why they haven't got a goal in recent games! But we all know how they'll play against us next week..
  15. Okay, my take: Firstly.. Chelsea's goal.. absolutely amazing from Remy. Great buildup. Great assist from Hazard. Secondly.. City's goal.. that has to be one of the worst bit of goalkeeping from Courtois from a cross I have ever seen! What was the point in flailing at the ball on arrival? If Petr Cech was in goal he wouldn't have allowed that to happen. Courtois is world class don't get me wrong, but doing that shows a small lack of experience, which Petr has the slight advantage I'm afraid. Evenly matched so far...
