Something horrible is telling me I know what's going to happen now.. please don't let it be true!
-
Not when he takes shots like the one he has just taken!
-
I am now sincerely up for going defensive this entire extra time. Take off any key players, bring anyone defensive on and just park the bus!!
-
FUCKING HAVE THAT YOU LIVERPOOL SHITS! IVAAAAA!!!
-
Jesus Ivanovic ....
-
Kick me in the balls for stating, but I don't feel Luis will be much of a miss as Fabregas would be at the weekend. I feel Azpilicueta is just as good as Luis at playing left back.
-
Willian was worse... apparently... (well apart from one great through ball he made)
-
What do you expect from a team like Liverpool?
-
Cesc injured 4 days before City game??
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but should this game stay 0-0 until the end of extra time, do we go through on the away goal rule?
-
The way people are portraying this game at the moment, I reckon I should feel glad that I'm not able to watch it!
-
Home matches for us lately have been excruciatingly terrible to watch. I don't want to worry too much about the City game at the weekend, but because of that fact, it's unfortunate that I am.
-
I'm out so there's no way I can watch the game... ... has it really been that bad??
-
You need to think before you spew out crap like that! I don't care about the League Cup, but I do care about us leaving the League Cup behind and seeing us win the league. No I'm definitely not a true Chelsea fan when I say that. Grow up!

If the young kids show as much admiration to Mourinho as you say they do, then someone needs to take a good look at our youth academy because at the moment, it seems like none of the players that do come through (a la Loftus-Cheek) are getting enough chances. They're just getting whisked out on loan to clubs. But then what do you do when those sorts of players give you results like the one today? Mourinho immediately goes back to the players he relies on to get the wins. I don't think money should be spent on top-quality players this summer. I think the youth setup seriously needs to be looked at. Because if anything, if we start splashing the cash on players we'll ruin our good FFP status. Use the money in places where it is most needed. In this case, our youth! This has been dawned upon for years now, and nothing has been done about it! We need to take a leaf out of Southampton's book.

I hate Liverpool just as much as the next Chelsea fan does, but you have to ask yourself a question. Do you waste energy over a loss in a competition not worth bragging about.. or would you like to see your club win another Premier League title and continue to envisage success each year? I know what I'd like to see!
-
This is what worries me the most. I fear we will end up with a team that shows hardly any loyalty at all... someone that can touch the heart of Mourinho, like Terry and Drogba have done. This is the reason why we've been able to see success at our club. You could be right.. I reckon Mourinho will convince either Terry or Drogba to see out another year at the club when this season ends... unless he can see improvement from the other folk, I can see this as a reality. Fabregas shows some signs that he can lead the line, particularly when he's had previous experience at it with Arsenal. What's more, he qualifies as a homegrown player. I'd like to see players like him develop a relationship with Mourinho. I mean it's not exactly a difficult thing to do. Any top-quality player would love to play for Mourinho, you just got to look at all the trophies he has won with the clubs he's managed!
-
Yep I'd go along with that!
-
I suppose you can tell "such traits" if.. he was, as you say, "filling in because of injuries". It's those sorts that want to prove a point... that they deserve to play more, and not just someone doing the latter, so they try and make their voice heard. Players like Mikel, Azpilicueta, and others should be doing that, because they need to prove that point to Mourinho. Instead, they show no promise, particularly in games we can (and should) win.
-
I see where you're coming from. If you look at our youth setup, I don't see a single player that can emulate the mentality that Terry, Lampard and Cole (and maybe even Ivanovic) have envisaged in recent years. I suppose you can throw into the mix, our lack of English players we have too. The core of every club, is to have a local sentimental figure that can spur up a dressing room. These being your Gerrards, your Terrys, your Rooneys. We've had players like McEachran and Cork come and go.. right now, we have people like Loftus-Cheek who seem to show a few promises, but in no way are they born-leaders. I certainly don't want to see us go down the route of Arsenal, who have failed to recognise any kind of leader in their side (when they weren't winning trophies). Looking at a club like Southampton. They ooze talent everywhere you look, and at the same time, they make profits on players that have been nurtured by them over the years.. yet their talent still seems to shine in all the right places. Kinda tells you straight why they've been able to hold their own in the Premier League so far.

He can't play alongside him either... just watch our demise to Sp*rs away again and you'll know what I mean.
-
You'd think exactly that after watching us at the beginning of this season. Nobody could touch us.. we were getting results that were making pundits and critics alike thinking we'd run away with every trophy imaginable. What with Fabregas and Costa pulling the strings... This result brings us back down to reality. You can't just go an entire season thinking you can win everything and get away with periods/weather changes/mind games that are going to change the season around. That's what football does. What I do agree with, is that changes need to be made.. do we go back to playing defensively and looking like a boring side? Or do we continue to look like an attacking force, that have every right to feel concerned about the opposition hitting us on the break with hardly any people back?
-
Matic didn't play however. I recall someone here said, we're bollocks if Matic isn't there playing in the holding role... and whoever said that I agree with them!
-
In all fairness, a result like this does not bode well with home games we have coming up.. Liverpool in the League Cup 2nd leg.. Man City in the league. I know we won 2-0 at home against Newcastle a few weeks ago, but the first half of that game, we looked a shadow of our former selves, and we let Newcastle simply piss all over us. It could have EASILY been a different result then had Newcastle scored, thus we could have soiled under the pressure. I think a result such as this has been coming for a while, and, If anything, it will shake us up.. but an even more positive thing about this loss, is that now we have enough time to focus on other important competitions, such as the League and Champions League. City will REALLY want to beat us at the Bridge next weeekend, and if we carry on playing at home the way we have been, they could easily get that wish... ...I don't even want to imagine Lampard scoring for City at the Bridge! It was bad enough he did so at the Etihad!
