  1. It would have been better off us doing what United did, and loan him with the option to buy at the end of the season. Signing him permanently is a real risk if I'm being honest.. it almost feels like we're obtaining another Torres-esque individual! ..better still, I'd rather not see us sign him at all, and give Bamford his deserved opportunity in the first team! We get a homegrown player, 'and' we stick to following the FFP regulations! I understand I'm bringing up Financial Fair Play a lot in my posts, but for a club like us, we need to be doing as much as we can to balance the books in terms of club finances. UEFA rules state that in order for clubs to compete in their competitions, books need to be balanced. Roman is hugely passionate about our club and he wants to bring as much success as possible, but imagine if he was someone like Malcolm Glazer or Randy Lerner. At the end of the day, our club in its entirety, still owe a lot of money to Roman, and if he was to just suddenly walk away.... Please excuse my negativity about our club's status.. I'm a cautious fan after all!
  2. I've seen that a deal is close to €45m .... .... €45m for a back-up striker?!
  3. When you look at a picture like that, the first thing you look for is a shadow underneath the collar. I can see one.. it looks genuine to me! That still doesn't convince me the picture IS real however!
  4. There is NO WAY that picture is real! Someone has got some über-skills on Photoshop! Unless Chelsea are proving to us why they are the masters of keeping things secret!
  5. Dude, no post season friendlies are "pointless" .. every friendly is key for both manager and player. A manager needs to understand his players inside out, how they play, what position is best suited for them, what tactics are the best to use. A player, be it a new signing or a young talent, need to prove that they can fit into a manager's plans! That's what friendlies are used for. Oscar may have had a 1/2 good season for us, but if a plan isn't working.. Mourinho must do what is necessary to change it up. Oscar knows he has to improve to get back into the team, he's had first-team experience to know what to do. RLC on the other hand, is raw. He's 19.. he's just come up from the Under-18. He has no first team experience yet, and if he's showing up with cavalier displays in crucial games where you need to prove yourself, that's where "tough love" is needed to inspire.
  6. Exactly, I mean some people think that Mourinho's being a bit harsh on RLC.. but rather it's more along the lines of "tough love".. you can see that Mourinho cares about our youth development, as well as the first team.. he wants to see progress with the young talent that is coming through. If some of the players are not pulling their weight, he WILL say something! That's his job! Any other manager would let it slide with a player.. not Mourinho! There's a reason why Mourinho is a world class manager!!
  7. Yeah I'd go with this.. take it with a pinch of salt, this is all gunpowder for RLC in hopes that he will motivate himself to be better. Maybe Mourinho is doing him a favour! Jeffrey Bruma said, in an article I read yesterday.. that RLC and Solanke BOTH need to take their chances now.. while the iron is still hot, or it will never happen for them!
  8. Not someone to combat any of the solid back four suspects for a place in the team.. apparently, we've opened talks with Atletico to swap him for Felipe Luis, so we're technically swapping a bench warmer for another bench warmer. Sorry, don't want him. Whatever happened to chasing players like Varane and Hummels anyway??
  9. Just seen our next opponents... NY Red Bulls in 50 days time!! WHAT AM I GUNNA DO WITHOUT CHELSEA FOR 50 DAYS!?!? Good to see we've ended the season on a high, though!
  10. Diego wants to leave? WHAT? I've only just found out about this... I find it surprising to be honest!
  11. As I stated before, I think it's too much of a gamble signing Falcao because of his wages. But whether it's Falcao or Remy in the squad, Bamford and Solanke will never get regular game time, so loans would be a wise option. Lambert would be there purely as a utility striker. Plus, because of UEFA's homegrown rules, we need more English faces in our squad.
  12. As long as Falcao doesn't emulate the season he had at United, I don't really mind Remy leaving. Here's what I think: If we sign Falcao... let Remy leave... let Bamford / Solanke or BOTH go out on season loans... and then sign someone like Rickie Lambert as the 3rd choice for a season, I'd happily go along with that... If it doesn't happen, I'll be equally as happy because we won't have to dig so deep to pay Falcao's astronomical wages per-week, and then our rhythm of following the FFP rules will be knocked around! Yes, our club is under a heavy debt in Roman Abramovich's name, but we don't want to go further down. That's why we dealt so well last summer, because we sold players we didn't need for big money (Mata, David Luiz), and bought the right players, for the right positions, at the right prices (Costa, Fabregas). Mourinho did what he had to do, not only to win the title, but also to balance the books. I hope in a few years, we'll end up being a club that is balanced just right, not too much in debt, and still winning trophies. I think we're being far too adventurous with Falcao if I'm honest, but that's just my opinion.
  13. Disappointing as that may sound, I think a loan move to a Premier League club next season sounds good for Bamford.. I'd love him to join Southampton for a season! As for Falcao.. I just don't see him as a third choice striker, but it's not a bad backup if Costa gets an injury..
  14. Chelsea vs Arsenal in the Community Shield by the way guys! Just so that we're aware....
  15. Knew Arsenal had won this after Villa had beaten Liverpool in the semis!
  16. He'll get a lot of game time at Bournemouth, and he'll get to prove himself in the Prem! Good for his development!
  17. It would be hard for me to visualise a player like Falcao drop to third choice at any club after just one poor season at United, particularly when at Porto/Atletico, he was considered one of the most lethal strikers on the planet at that time. I say no, purely due to the fact that Costa, will no doubt be first choice, Remy second, and people like Bamford and Solanke will never get playing time! Only thing that would change my mind, is that if he became available on a free, otherwise, stay well clear Jose!
  18. I voted John Terry as MOTM because.... 38 Games, every.. single.. fucking.. minute!! CAPTAIN, LEADER, LEGEND, CHAMPION!!
  19. Arsenal are spanking 4-0, a team that beat us 3-0 on Monday!
  20. I'd hate to see Sunderland of all teams get two consecutive league wins over us at Stamford Bridge to ruin the mood this afternoon, so I say we get the job done and win!!
  21. I've always dreamt of Chelsea signing a Swede... this is not a bad Swede to be signing! :-)
