  1. If I'm remembering correctly there was a post earlier in this thread claiming that Leipzig are not interested.
  2. In this case the 'distance' we're talking about is time. If we start with the sealing of the contract being 30 days away, and reduce that time by half every day then, if my calculus is up to it, we would run into the Planck time in something a few days over 5 months. At that point, in the human frame of reference, the incompleteness of the deal will be totally indistinguishable from its completion. In human experience the deal will be done. In reality, even before we get to the Planck time, humans would experience the deal as having been completed. 🙂 Got a computer to check it and I didn't do too badly. It would take about five and a half months to reach the Planck time. In reality though the deal would be under a second away from completion, 3 weeks after we started. At that point I think we could dispense with the rest of the journey to the Plank time. 🙂🙂
  3. Loan to Leipzig would be good as long as they have serious minutes for him. If they do then they'd presumably want a buy option. Depending on how strongly Tyrique feels about moving on then, as long as there's a serious value on the option, it could be a good solution.
  4. Genuine interest or attempt to keep Leipzig honest? If genuine, for loan or for the squad? If for loan, stay in Lyon or look for a Premier League host?
  5. The reason I'm prepared to reserve judgment on this lad boils down to the opinion of a ManU supporting cousin of mine. He watches United as religiously as we all watch Chelsea and he really believes in Garnacho's talent. He feels that any coach or Club that can help the player sort his head out will have a tremendous performer on their hands. Of course this assumes that sorting his head is actually possible.
  6. I needed help from Gemini AI to work that one out. When I say '"help' I mean it just told me. 🙂
  7. Great news for the lad. Good luck Mando, do well son.
  8. So projected to one day be worth 37.5% less than Nico Jackson is now. (According to CFC's reported 80 million valuation of NJ.)
  9. It remains to be seen if the squad can live up to it but I'm hoping that we can play a rotated team in some PL and some CL fixtures. When I say 'play' I mean while retaining a reasonable expectation of getting results. That is what the spending has been for after all. If we our squad turns out to be good enough to allow this, then there will be lots of games for a lot of players, and not just nonsense, nothing, games either.
  10. It's only opinion of course but my feeling is that Dom can only have appeared to have the world at his feet from a reading of his stats, rather than from watching him play. He sometimes, but not always, caused Tammy Abraham to be played wide right for the 18s so Dom could go through the middle but he also lost the selection battle quite often. Being brutal, the three caps are probably two more than his level merits so I'd say that he has outperformed his talent in earning them. He did the same again with his outstanding season for Bournemouth. It was out of keeping with the rest of his output. I wouldn't say it was ever obvious that Dom is a Premier League calibre footballer. Maybe the Liverpool move elevated his profile and boosted his career. Without it we might now be talking about him as a decent Championship player. He'd still be making a great living, but not many headlines.
  11. I'm not as against this potential move as many are so I won't be unhappy if we sign him. (Bags of talent but with character flaws might be fixable. Bags of character but short on talent is not.) That said, I can't help but wonder if our persistent interest in Garnacho isn't partly to do with giving Leipzig something to bear in mind during the Simons negotiation.
  12. Dom has established himself as a Premier League starter. Unless he has been an absolute idiot with his money this means, among other things, that he has set himself up for life before reaching the age of 28. Not every footballer earns an international cap. Not every man becomes a millionaire. Dom has achieved both. His move to Liverpool has worked out brilliantly for him. He is another Cobham success story,
  13. I wonder if this is how Hato felt before the club World Cup? Winning that tournament, in the manner we did, against the opponent we beat in the final, has to have enhanced our status around the game.
  14. It's pretty impressive how many different ways a bloke, speaking in what is either his second or third language, can find to say the same thing. 🙂
  15. Yes, it would have to be a sizeable offer although, in a negotiation, I might blink before we get to £150m. My parameter would be the cost of the left winger we aim to bring in + the cost of Rogers. That said, if Rogers was interested in forcing a move away from Villa rumours about that might have started circulating by now. If they are out there I haven't come across them so hopes of getting him this summer look unrealistic.
  16. I like Rogers as an 8. I think he has great attributes for the position. Better than Enzo's in my opinion. If we made that swap my expectations for next season would become more ambitious.
  17. Swap Tosin & Badiashile? Sell Enzo replace with Rogers. Donnaruma only makes sense if we've already given up on Penders. Since I hope we haven't, I say pass on the PSG man.
  18. Good pronunciation guide in that video: "You're-El Haa-Toe"
  19. I was at The Bridge for the Djurgarden game which Walsh started. The team was really lackluster that night however so it wasn't a great opportunity to see what he's all about.
  20. Toto, I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore. It's a great fee for CFC of course, but the move itself, if it comes off, could turn out to be great for Felix. I hope this move materialises and goes brilliantly for him.
  21. I once considered myself very well informed about CFC academy players because I watched a lot of games both live and through online coverage. In recent seasons however I have watched less and less. Last season I watched virtually none, so I now know only what I read and hear. I'm looking forward to catching up,
  22. If Newcastle miss out on all of their preferred targets, I can see them looking at Jackson as a loan option. Given the length of contract he is on, I believe we could accept that. Obviously we should require Newcastle to cover the entirety of his wages, and to pay a substantial loan fee but I see no difficulty in them agreeing to those terms. This could be a win for Nico and for both clubs. It gets Nico a chance to blossom, gets Newcastle coverage while they decide what their permanent solution should be, and gets us two chances to win. If he does well it enhances his transfer value. If he does very well it really enhances his transfer value and brings him back into consideration for an active role in our squad. Things which are not going to happen if he spends next season as our third option striker.
  23. I'm aiming to get down to Kingsmeadow a few times next season to take a look at this Rabbàj kid. I'm especially hoping he will make the uefa Youth League squad.
  24. Good information thank you. I have only seen Yildiz in the Club World Cup and was impressed. I don't claim that this is enough to contradict people who have seen him play more often than I have. I do however contrast the impression he made on me with my thoughts about Raphael Leao. As my post history will show, Leao never impressed me at all and I consistently argued against us signing him. Based on my own limited viewings I therefore have no choice but to feel that Yildiz is the better of the two. I do though think that the opinions of fans, and especially fans of the player's own club are worth considering. For example, it was the views of Leicester City fans which made me doubtful about us signing Ben Chilwell.
