We certainly will need a third specialist centre forward in the squad. If Nico's pride/ambition prevents him accepting that role, or the club prefers to transfer him because they don't want to allocate his level of salary to that role, then who is next up from the current squad? I'm not convinced that any of the younger players has looked ready.

...Michael Olise. 🙁

I don't know which person in the CFC organisation is responsible for adding the final authorising signature to player contracts. Whoever it is should keep framed portraits of these two on their desk.

After making my original post I saw a version of the question posted by Chelsea with a photograph of the 15 players. It included a lot of 'doh' moments of recognition for me I can tell you. Even then there was one face I recognised but could not id. Your post put me out of my misery on that name. 🙁

I received a notification from Chelsea challenging people to name the other 14 Dutchman who have played for Chelsea. (I'm assuming they're talking about the men's team.) I'm ashamed to say I've only come up with five so far. Including Hato! The other 4 are; a keeper, a midfielder who played centre back for us, a left footed right winger, and a left winger. L I'm guessing that most of you lot can do much better than me. Edit: Up to six now. A right back

I can certainly agree with this.
-
If I'm remembering correctly that we paid £30m for KDH then I'm guessing you mean a profit against remaining book value?
-
I saw a thing somewhere, maybe in here, claiming that we are looking for £100m a season. No doubt that's after City's record breaking deal.
-
I did see some stuff about the theory that we might be living inside a black hole but I decided not to look into it. 🙁

I've got a feeling I'll be busy that day but I'm looking forward to receiving a postcard from you. 🙂 I only chose the Planck time because it is comfortably within the range of time that human beings simply could not experience. In that length of time we couldn't even fire up the neurons required to conceive the thought, "Are we there yet?"
-
Agreed. Gusto obviously was really good against PSG but, as an all-round full back, and a Maresca fullback specifically, Josh is a better bet I'd say.
-
If I'm remembering correctly there was a post earlier in this thread claiming that Leipzig are not interested.
-
In this case the 'distance' we're talking about is time. If we start with the sealing of the contract being 30 days away, and reduce that time by half every day then, if my calculus is up to it, we would run into the Planck time in something a few days over 5 months. At that point, in the human frame of reference, the incompleteness of the deal will be totally indistinguishable from its completion. In human experience the deal will be done. In reality, even before we get to the Planck time, humans would experience the deal as having been completed. 🙂 Got a computer to check it and I didn't do too badly. It would take about five and a half months to reach the Planck time. In reality though the deal would be under a second away from completion, 3 weeks after we started. At that point I think we could dispense with the rest of the journey to the Plank time. 🙂🙂

Loan to Leipzig would be good as long as they have serious minutes for him. If they do then they'd presumably want a buy option. Depending on how strongly Tyrique feels about moving on then, as long as there's a serious value on the option, it could be a good solution.
-
Genuine interest or attempt to keep Leipzig honest? If genuine, for loan or for the squad? If for loan, stay in Lyon or look for a Premier League host?

The reason I'm prepared to reserve judgment on this lad boils down to the opinion of a ManU supporting cousin of mine. He watches United as religiously as we all watch Chelsea and he really believes in Garnacho's talent. He feels that any coach or Club that can help the player sort his head out will have a tremendous performer on their hands. Of course this assumes that sorting his head is actually possible.
-
I needed help from Gemini AI to work that one out. When I say '"help' I mean it just told me. 🙂
-
Great news for the lad. Good luck Mando, do well son.
-
So projected to one day be worth 37.5% less than Nico Jackson is now. (According to CFC's reported 80 million valuation of NJ.)
-
It remains to be seen if the squad can live up to it but I'm hoping that we can play a rotated team in some PL and some CL fixtures. When I say 'play' I mean while retaining a reasonable expectation of getting results. That is what the spending has been for after all. If we our squad turns out to be good enough to allow this, then there will be lots of games for a lot of players, and not just nonsense, nothing, games either.

+ Marc Guiu loan.

It's only opinion of course but my feeling is that Dom can only have appeared to have the world at his feet from a reading of his stats, rather than from watching him play. He sometimes, but not always, caused Tammy Abraham to be played wide right for the 18s so Dom could go through the middle but he also lost the selection battle quite often. Being brutal, the three caps are probably two more than his level merits so I'd say that he has outperformed his talent in earning them. He did the same again with his outstanding season for Bournemouth. It was out of keeping with the rest of his output. I wouldn't say it was ever obvious that Dom is a Premier League calibre footballer. Maybe the Liverpool move elevated his profile and boosted his career. Without it we might now be talking about him as a decent Championship player. He'd still be making a great living, but not many headlines.
-
I'm not as against this potential move as many are so I won't be unhappy if we sign him. (Bags of talent but with character flaws might be fixable. Bags of character but short on talent is not.) That said, I can't help but wonder if our persistent interest in Garnacho isn't partly to do with giving Leipzig something to bear in mind during the Simons negotiation.
-
Dom has established himself as a Premier League starter. Unless he has been an absolute idiot with his money this means, among other things, that he has set himself up for life before reaching the age of 28. Not every footballer earns an international cap. Not every man becomes a millionaire. Dom has achieved both. His move to Liverpool has worked out brilliantly for him. He is another Cobham success story,

I wonder if this is how Hato felt before the club World Cup? Winning that tournament, in the manner we did, against the opponent we beat in the final, has to have enhanced our status around the game.
