Conte hasn't even had a "big" signing yet at Chelsea, so this one would be a terrible bust for the manager when Rodriguez comes up with every excuse for why he can't hack it in the Prem. NO. You wanna break the bank for a player, go with Verratti. Known quantity, what we need to get our possession game up to the next level and the manager likes this kind of true CM.

don't give a fuck what happens to this player in the market. we can get a potentially better player with more pace and a better mindset. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

James Rodriguez to Chelsea – Is he the right man at the moment?
quickpassnmove replied to James's topic in Chelsea Articles
Not interested in signing him. Also: hopefully the days of the CAM that can do almost nothing well on the pitch are over. -
I think we're signing Kessie and/or Verratti and maybe a LWB. dunno about CB. Not that 2 Cms are necessary, but sometimes you gotta pounce.
-
A loan would work for me. I'm very doubtful of the guy. He sounds like our very own Useless Memphis waiting to happen.

I don't have a suggestion on who should be bought as a RF/RW, but I want a fresh, pacey player who can also shoot and score. A player like Mane --if there are more out there, is a much better option than another attacking midfielder who was overpriced and hyped both before and after Madrid bought him. Seems to me that the player Conte wants will be able to play in the traditional trident or as a winger... IDK. James seems like a reclamation project to me, so this is not just about James' skills, physique, nor his position/where he fits; it's also his mentality and history. ---YES--- there's no denying Rodriguez is a player with great potential but that is something that is far from being realized yet.
-
Sadio Mane is a better player for that.
-
This would be a good way to piss a bunch of money away on a player that won't make a huge difference. A real CM and a real winger with pace, a real wing back are far better players to bring in.
-
stay in Merseyside.
-
That's what we should have starting, IMO. Who is the backup striker BTW? Dom?
-
Good to win, first half made me think that we could lose for a few moments, but CP didn't generate shots on goal. Very nice match from Alonso BTW. Azpi, MotM for me. Time for those transfers in. We are looking weaker and it's NOT because of the schedule; it's because we don't do enough with build-up play (same old Chelsea). We're still just a counterattacking side that relies heavily upon Diego and Eden. We need more than that. If we get another CM in the lineup with Kante, we can play Cesc a little more as a third CM, which I think we should do while we still have him. Looks like that streak is ready to end, but then again, Chalobah is surely getting a start next game. No way in hell it's Matic and Fabregas (throw Ivanovic in for good measure???).
-
Can't do much with possession. Same as months ago. Are we only good on a counterattacks? If so, we need better players. Next to nothing from RF, LCM, and LWB.
-
I would like a player like Dembele at Chelsea too. --Wow-- what a player!
-
so he's a FIFA player?
-
For anyone curious about this player, in about 25 minutes he will be playing against Dortmund. In the youtube videos, he looks very relaxed while playing, showing good vision, awareness, anticipation, but we all know that youtube clips are nothing like seeing full matches. Hard to tell what his top speed is, but his acceleration is surely going to be nowhere near that of Carvalho.
-
He's lightweight, yes, but maybe he can work as a wingback. I feel pretty certain that Conte is not only an excellent tactician and manager, but also he knows what to look for to improve our side at FB/WB and CM. I love this potential change because it's in those areas that we've been lacking at Chelsea for years. It's also what prevents us from becoming a top contender in all competitions. Will probably be looking for a new winger/RF in the summer.
-
I like Amavi too, but not seen enough of him yet. He and Souare arrived in the league in 2015, both interesting players with potential.
-
That's Gaya, of Valencia. I like him too. Gotta say, I think he would be a perfect fit for our side, assuming further use of wingbacks. Gaya could be the type of player that RM or Barca buy. I would consider buying him ASAP. Now, if you asked me about buying GANA and GAYA, I might be bouncing off the walls --but Everton don't want to sell.
-
Wow, is it really happening? Are we really seeing this happen? What a season this could become!
-
Sunderland have the ability to make this a difficult win if Sunderland put shots on target --and I think they can despite their MF deficiencies. Would be a good match to give a defender or CM some rest (insert Chalobah)

Something more for LWB/LB and something more for CM, plus the CB transfer that seems to be looming.... we're on a way to being a top European side again. I've no recommendations on the new potential forward/winger, but I believe one of our young players can make it into the 1st team at some point. Save the big money forward transfer for later; add the quality in CM and LB now --and maybe the CB, if it's the right deal. However, someone like Sanchez is interesting. I just wish that we had made that move for Alexis at the same time we grabbed Frabregas from Barca. Alexis Sanchez will be 28 this month. Aubemeyang will be 28 in the summer, but I believe Pierre will maintain his acceleration and top speed longer than Sanchez after age 30.

That was an excellent 2nd half performance by our maestro, Antonio. Diego MotM. Damn hero! Impressive win against a tough side. Stay healthy, Chelsea.
-
This manager is great. He has made the perfect changes. I want Conte to stay for a long time. Diego Costa is a damn hero.
-
Glad we haven't bought this player.
-
Two ways to simplify it: 1) we're currently over-achieving due to an excellent management team --over-achieving because we DO lack quality and depth across the formation -AND- because we are only in ONE competition currently. 2) we're not ready to be the side that can play how it wants home/away -AND- with a load of European matches added As for collapsing in the 2nd half of the season: it's possible, but I imagine we get some players in the January window. Tottenham, Arsenal, and ManCity still represent strong competition for the title IMO, but we'll see how well the Stokes, West Broms, Watfords and EVertons hold it together in the 2nd half; usually, they don't.
