  1. Spanish football journalist Begona Perez: "Someone is leaking stories because they want to destroy Mourinho." (BBC) #CFC Spanish football journalist B. Perez on Mourinho: "I'm quite surprised to see that in the British media, it's a bit Spanish in a way" (BBC) Spanish football journalist B. Perez: "I haven't seen that [press with] United, City, Arsenal in worst times so many stories in the media" Nothing surprises me with the British media. Absolute wankers for the most part.
  2. I thought today was handled as well as we could have hoped for tbh. Some of the media discussions over the past few days have been nothing short of disgraceful but they are never accountable, not as much as say a Premier League manager anyway. They can write whatever they want to a degree and get away with it. It was painfully obvious that Jose didn't want anything to do with that media press conference today, and I for some part cannot blame him, papers like the Mirror (represented by that prick Darren Lewis I think today) were trying to get a rise out of him asking probing questions, he says nothing much at all and on their twitter feed they compare him to David Brent. Do they want respectful responses or not? I know Jose is his own worst enemy when it comes to the media, HOWEVER, the media themselves should be ashamed of themselves for the stories they have allowed to be published from terrible sources. None so much as the BBC who I believe are a shell of themselves in terms of respectability. But I think these are the times that we are living in, the media is catering for people now who don't care so much about substance or whatever important is going on in the world today, it's more to do with who's shagging who, who's stabbing who in the back with catty comments. It was only a matter of time before this sort of journalistic cesspool became a huge part of sports media as well. These sensationalised stories and rumours are doing my fucking head in and I feel ashamed that people are taking them seriously. I would much rather listen to three hours of Neville, Carragher and Lamps talking about proper footballing issues than twats like Neil Ashton, Darren Lewis sensationalising and turning this into a fucking soap opera. (Even more so than Jose has done in his response to them and referees this season).
  3. Calling out the BBC for lowering their standards by publishing rumours such as the ones on show this week. Well played. Not from Jose but our press officer guy. Well handled. Jose: 'The players have been giving their best in every minute of every training session. They always have a desire to win next match.' #CFC Jose on whether he knows why results haven't been as good as last season: 'Yes, I know. It's a combination of factors.' #CFC Jose: 'I try to be a better coach every day. I try to analyse every detail of my work every day. That's why I'm a good one.' Jose: 'For my players I will do everything. I always did and I'm not going to change.' #CFC Jose: 'Today Falcao picked up an important muscular injury and he will be out for a few weeks.' #CFC Jose: 'When you reach my level it's difficult to learn from others, you have to learn from yourself. I learn day by day.' #CFC Jose says he hasn't lost any confidence because of recent results. #CFC Jose: 'I think Chelsea will finish first in the group. If not we will finish second, I'm completely convinced we will qualify.' #CFC Jose: 'Tomorrow's match isn't a "must win" but it's a "must not lose". I'm convinced we can finish first.' #CFC Jose answered the vast majority of questions but he really didn't want to give the media the time of day. I thought the way they handled the stuff with the BBC was well done. Nothing too dramatic and to the point.
  4. He should bring Cesc in with him for the press conference, for poops and giggles.
  5. Good job to Cesc on calling out the bullshit story.
  6. So we are believing secret footballer now? Either it's 'Ive always knew fabregas was a cunt' OR ' good on you for standing up to the evil Mourinho' Fuck sake lads, I will criticise the guy for phoning it in this season but I wont for something thats been said by some crackpot faux-journalist who's capitalising on our failings on the pitch and also cashing in on the mass hysteria going around our fans. Ignore it. Use this energy to cheer on the boys on come Wednesday and Saturday! Jeeesus!!!
  7. I could listen to Gary Neville all day. The best signing sky have made by an absolute mile. His stuff about now being the time to bring in the young players and the positive effects of such was excellent. Best pundit with absolute ease.
  8. Absolutely fascinating analysis from Carra, frank and Gary, they are so good at this. Especially when it comes to Mikel and Ramires holding back so far to the point where they are hurting the defence rather than helping.
  9. This sort of stuff is women's gossip magazine level. I can see it now: 'Cesc speaks out: Jose wanted me to play bad football. Peter Andre shows his support.'
  10. Now that all this about him leaving regardless of results confuses me. Consider this, what if that's true and (bear with me here as I know this is highly unlikely because of recent performances) we give Stoke a good hiding. Apparently the club have made their decision, but wouldn't that cause one hell of a backlash. More so than just getting it over with now if that;s what they;ve decided.
  11. I'd take Koeman in the summer. Just throwing that out there seeing as we're discussing replacements now.
  12. This is all very depressing. Looks like Jose is out at the weekend regardless and so begins the managerial merry-go-round again for CFC. I am gutted, I wanted this to work so badly, and to last a long time. My dad's going to be super smug now because even when Jose came back he felt like it was going to end in tears again. I'd agree with one poster above, I think the deal for the next interim (PLEASE NOT CAPELLO) is done and dusted. I'd wager it's Carlo Ancelotti, possibly Hiddink. Hold onto your hats this is gonna be a fun week.
  13. I agree with you here mate, excellent post. That's one of the things I find most baffling about Jose especially this season. I think his viewpoint on Baba especially has almost infected a few on here, as soon as Baba started his first game, after ages of waiting to be 'ready' according to Jose, he makes a few mistakes in what's got to be a very nervy game for the young lad (seeing as one poster rightly before mentioned- footballers are human beings who are affected by lots of things) and people say on here 'Jose was right-hes not ready'. I was appalled at that, its become a mindset at this club and with football in general, this instant gratification.
  14. This is such a defining week for our club. Its crazy how this season has gone and it seems to all come down to this weeks two games. If we beat Kiev and lose to Stoke is that enough? Not for me. And probably not enough for Roman and the higher ups. I am not looking forward to watching either but I will because I will continue to support the team whoever the manager is, I expect the players to play with professionalism also. Christ.
  15. I will never understand why we let this guy go. Ah well..
  16. I absolutely agree with you re: Matic. If you go back to the game thread from then I said how bad that was for him and embarrassing to see it as a big fan of his. I wouldn't blame him for not having confidence in the manager after that but, I would like to think that the club who pays his wages and the fans who back him, get his name on the back of their shirt, chant his name at games, means something too. I am aware of how difficult it must be, being unfairly out of favour when others at the time were playing worse, but at the end of the day I expect a man who earns big bucks to play for a team to be able to at least work hard. Side note: Not saying Matic doesn't work hard, just using him as an example.
  17. It'll be interesting if/when he gets sacked, if certain players start playing properly again. It's like when AVB (alright not the greatest manager or very popular) got sacked and the players were laughing a joking before a FA Cup game away at birmingham I believe. It irritated me, these players should give their all regardless of the manager imo. I guess football isn't that way any more.
  18. I'm starting to wonder how great the Drogba influence was in terms of motivation last season.
  19. It'd be as good a time as any to make a change if they're gonna. What with the international break.
  20. Spot on pal. I remember after the Southampton game I think, I listened to 606 and one Chelsea fan rang up and spoke to Robbie Savage and got it spot on. He said to Savo (as a former Leicester player) how pleased he must be and proud with how Claudio Ranieri conducts himself in interviews and how ashamed he was of Jose. It does my head in. If we lose to a better team, don't fucking moan about everything, just accept it, likewise if we aren't good enough which we clearly are not.
  21. I know pal. The feeling of watching Chelsea now is a far cry from the joy I felt watching Gianfranco dance around players at the bridge as a young kid. Sigh.
