You really didn't need to use the word f**** to describe him. Totally unnecessary. As i said let's not talk about Torres, this thread is about Rooney, who would you play him with. I don't think he has the style or pace to play for us.

But in all honesty what if you HAVENT BEEN DOING SO BAD? Rooney had huge periods not scoring but doesnt get made out as bad as Torres, who has won the world cup, euros etc. I am not getting into an argument about Torres. This is about Rooney and I think he is not fussed about Chelsea, only that Utd and Moyes dont want him and he'll 'take' another club, never has he had any association or spoke of any great admiration for Chelsea. I really don't think he is the answer and we should not waste large amounts of money on him.

Your opinion, i completely disagree, but whatever Rooney is no saviour, no winner of the league for us, like RVP was for Utd last year.

I absolutely hate people slagging Fernando. Imagine if you were told everyday at your job, you were useless, rubbish, terrible etc etc, every single day, its on the news, its in the paper, suddenly your confidence evaporates and the pressure of that £50m ruins what wonderful talent you have. It must be horrendous for him, but he has done alot for this club despite it. I can't stand people saying otherwise, who was it that got that fantastic important goal against Barcelona? He is on the way back up and has scored some important goals for us and will do again. He was great in Confererations Cup. If we were to get Rooney, it should have been 3 years ago. The minute 'little pea and rvp arrived, his nose was out of joint. In all honestly he stopped scoring for ages, and as you said we already have one of those, do we need another? We need someone in their absolute prime, as I said Lukaku is going to be a player for the future.

Yes but not specifically Rooney, get Torres back on track, Lukaku is looking great and use Moses and Ba as back up. I wouldnt pay a penny over £30m for Rooney. I mean RVP was a guaranteed goal machine and he was under £25m, bargain. As i said before, is Rooney still in the great form he was years ago? Last year Fergie was very dubious about his fitness.

But as i previously said, do we REALLY need him??

The Suarez situation is a joke. They always say noone is bigger than the club yet this guy constantly seems to be. There was all that carry on with Evra, Dalglish sticks up for him, and it was pretty bad. Then I will never forget watching him sink his teeth in. It was one of the most shocking random events i think in football today. It was such a terrible example to everyone and ok he got a ban but still, and all this nonsense, he wants to leave, liverpool are liars, they wont let him leave, if he apologises, all will be forgotten, he wont say sorry, then today all of a sudden he has apologised and now back with first team. You sure he isn't bigger than the team. I don't know why Arsene wants to deal with that circus. The Gareth Bale situation is becoming silly too, if he wants to go to Madrid he should really push through a move, because there are now rumours Madrid are cooling on the idea, and if that is the case, if i was him, i would be out there declaring my love for Tottenham and how i want to stay or it could get very awkward. It isnt that fair on Spurs, either go and let them get someone else or stay and come out and say it. It's very boring. The Rooney situation is slightly different, it has been made clear that him and Moyes don't get on, the book etc, and bit of a conicedece when he arrives, Wayne supposedly wants to leave. I think they need to sort it out. I still can't believe Moyes is the Utd manager.

I wasnt that big a fan of his before the Conferations Cup, but I had to admit he lived up to fight, scoring some brilliant goals and was so fast and skilled. I am not sure about some of the antics he pulls but he is a goal machine.I wouldnt have been upset had he joinedus instead. I will be interested to see how Messi and him play together...interesting one..

I would love to see a great start to the season, good result, say 3-0 show a real statement of intent. I can't wait for this game.

It would be very nice to win, but if we don't much like against Madrid, it is not because we are not solid. They are a difficult team and yes it would be wonderful to win. However even if we don't i think we are going to have a great season.

I think it was a good group of games. It allowed us to better see some forgotten talent, particularly Lukaku, he was brilliant. I really think a promising player, i would be keeping him around this season. Ok we didnt beat Madrid, but other than that I think we were pretty solid.

The question is, Has Rooney already peaked? He didnt have the best season last year and it was really RVP that made the difference for Utd. I would rather we got Bale than Rooney.
