Was more of a fantasy than an actual hypothetical. And Messi's overall style of play has him as a free flowing attacking midfielder, to a deep play maker, to a striker, and a false 9. The lad could literally adapt anywhere and still produce outstanding performances. We aren't even a club with a 'main man' to be honest as all of our individuals work with one another to benefit the squad. If Messi were to come here, (hypothetically now), we would see him and the team function like the Barca of 2008 and 2010. Playing on the wing whilst the likes of Henry (Costa), Eto'o (Hazard), Xavi, (Cesc) Iniesta (Oscar), Zlatan (Schurrle), etc, big club names who still work well for the team whilst Messi performing his free flowing game.
