3 Chelsea players. :/

Haha, it's an insult to Messi , that Andy Gray said on live television. When everyone was talking about how Messi's the best player in the world, Andy questioned how he hasn't faced physical football like that played by Stoke City, who literally play rugby football. So it actually means, no matter how good you are, can you do it in the English Premier League?

Analysis on Chelsea's draw against Man United
hjperdeath replied to hjperdeath's topic in Chelsea Articles
Lampard is suffering from fatigue. If Jose really wants to play him in big games, then should have rested him against Villa. But considering that he has played all three games, he has done it to play someone else against Bayern. Maybe van Ginkel, or KDB as well in that attacking cum holding midfield role. Mata couldn't have changed anything. If the philosophy was to go out there, play beautiful football, play through balls to an actual striker, then Mata could have offered a lot. We wanted to (a) keep the ball, ( break down United's midfield, © Not allow RVP any channels to move into and (d) Improve our pressing , counter-attacking movement and defense. Everything worked, except the part were we where to keep the ball and press very high. This was needed, cause we are to face Bayern on Friday. If we have a solid defense against the current Bayern team, they'll leave holes for us to counter-attack. If we press on the same level as they do and play aggressive by flying into tackles and fighting for every ball, we have a chance of winning the game. But coming to the main point, Mata needs fitness, that was evident when he played against Villa. Hopefully he is building on it, and I can't see him as anything other than a starter against Bayern..- 10 replies

I think what he meant is that, without pace and energy, he is still a very good striker. Intelligent, makes runs, drags defenders, brilliant movement. Back at Barcelona, he , Messi, Henry were beautiful to watch. He didn't need pace or stamina (though he did have that) . He is a very technically sound player.

That's really creepy now.
-
He'll probably end up as a first choice on the wing, and probably Hazard on the other with Schurrle fighting for a spot. Oscar and Mata to fight it out for #10 and KDB,Ramires,MVG,Essien,Mikel and Lampard for the CM places.

Uh, he averaged 3.2 successful dribbles per game last season, unusually high in the Bundesliga.

No as in, no matter how many minute's he racks up, it'll be tough to get into a talented squad such as Brazil.
-
Even with moving to Spurs he would have trouble getting in to the Brazilian squad.. :/

you underestimate his powers of by-hearting...
-
He looks really happy to have joined. was fast in doing this too.
-
he isn't in the squad.
-
Agreed but you never know until we've given him a chance as the attack minded midfielder in our squad . If people are ready to take a risk then we can have him adapt into that kind of a role that Lampard has played in the past three games .
-
Training's over for the day I think. He'll meet up tomorrow.

Mou never get's played..

Can't wait to see him play. I have the feeling he could emulate Duffy on the wings like how it was during Jose's first reign. Exciting times. :blue scalf:

Their new manager has just been appointed in 2013, after consulting to Emenalo. But the assistant manager has been there since 2009 or 10 I believe, Albert Capellas Herms . He's the one who's the master-mind behind Vitesse's philosophy. Their holding midfielders play high-up the field. van Ginkel used to partner with either Propper or Janssen. They don't have Chelsea's system of having one midfielder pushing up and one holding. When Vitesse employed it in between games, Ginkel used to hold and cover for Kalas or Leerdam and Aanholt while Janssen went forward . His 12 goals have come from moments where he is up the pitch alongside a midfielder. Vitesse never played a high line, so with someone as intelligent as Ginkel or Propper, the distance could be covered quickly. That doesn't necessarily mean that he attacks a lot. he prefers to defend, and distribute the play.

Goals are nothing. He makes very few forward appearances. Even the goals he has scored are dodgy ones. People compare him to Lampard cause they think he makes late runs. However he makes very very few of them.
