Tbf, I think he is assigned to every London team's home games. At least he's stopped going on and on about 'tempo' and 'pace' this season. Btw, were there really boos during the first half yesterday? He made a deal out of it.

There were no boos. People were shouting shoot when Mikel had the ball like we always do.

You do get a few daytrip booooers and mong tourists tutting, but its not collective like Gale and the media would have us believe.

One of the funniest was when I heard some tourist behind me say to his fellow journeyman "so which one is Alan Crespo ?"

The club doesn't exactly help itself though. I saw this in the megastore on Friday

On the bright side, we gave up on the foam hands. That was embarrassing..

I liked those. There was a time in the 80s almost every ground had them, along with inflatable bananas.

Went to Chelsea v Newcastle in 1983 and it was a sea of massive hands pointing at the barcode fans :D

  • 1 year later...

He used to have a man-crush with Hazard, and constantly mentioned Azpi as "the best one-on-one defender in the league" last season. Few weeks ago he was swooning over Imbula in the Stoke game, not sure who's his flavour now.

But he must be the most mundane commentator ever. If he spots anything obvious he wont' hesitate to pounce on it!

I miss Tyler and Gray. At least the latter had personality and uniqueness to his commentary.
