chrismada9 1,948
The only real driving I've had was when I drove my dad's old toyota starlet around an empty car park. I was getting a feel of steering at that point.I have plans to get lessons once I graduate from uni this year

Styles 9,790
It's very tricky at first but once you settle down a bit you should be OK. I'd say you need maybe 5-6 lessons to master the moving off, stopping, keeping distance and being aware of your surroundings. Then another 5-10 lessons depending on how quickly you can get into a routine of carrying out manouvers.Don't make the mistake I made when I started driving lessons, failed my test and then just gave up for a year because I was pissed off. I had to almost start from scratch again the second time which meant I wasted some money. But passing was one of the best feelings ever, only made 4 minors in my second test The best drivers pass second time around
Kez 2,727
I've got my first lesson on monday. I've driven before though drove my mates brand new car and nearly put it into a skip before stalling. So yeah god help my instructor haha.

Term-X 7,891
I passed the theory test first time, obviously. I'm now on the verge of passing my test, although I've taken a more casual approach. The best advice I could give is that no matter how genuinely nice your instructor is. He's no different to a salesperson at the carphonewarhouse, remember that.
