Not sure this is the right place, but Jermaine Beckford was a product of the Academy. He never got his chance to shine w/ the first team, but put a dagger in the hearts for CFC fans @ Everton. Just curious what the people on this board thinks of him.

Bumped this thread as it seems we are the Feeder club for Hamburg now . A second point .. surely it is reasonable to expect ONE player a year to step up from the Academy ... Well how many have in the last FIVE years.

As one of the top clubs in England we should expect at least 3 or 4 to be honest.

It's a real shame just 1 at this club would be seen a success under this board's eyes.

The youth team's pre-season schedule has been announced.

In addition to three friendlies at Cobham, the Under 18 squad will also play four games over a three-day period at Manchester United's training ground. Please note that these games in the north-west are behind closed doors with no spectators permitted.

Oh well, they left. So what? Let's bring in some more youth. They surely couldn't have been given chances this season when even our 1st team wasn't performing well...though I have to point out that there were matches when some young players could've taken part in, but the main thing stands - we were awful this season when it comes to football and only a crazy man would give a young player a chance over a senior one when things are not going your way.

We should snatch someone from Hamburg now

Look at MU, the last people they had come through the ranks and establish themselves were Giggs, scholes and neville. (Fletcher isn't a cemented starter...yet, i say he's on and off)

You can't forget that players like the da silva twins and Anderson are NOT their academy products.
