Somehow I don't really see Ancelotti keen to stay...?

He seems to be accepting the idea that he might be sacked any time and reacting to interests for the job in Roma.

I don't really like that.

I also dislike the fact that he says he is the 'head coach' and not the manager of the team. - I mean, are you trying to tell people because of this, you can shed off responsibilities?

If Carlo wants to stay, I hope he can play a more defined football.

Btw, Bosingwa & Malouda should leave.... Hope Neymar can come in. :)

What are your views on all of us on here saying lamps and essien can't work in the middle but Carlo still keeps on playing them?

I said the same thing about Lamps-Essien and I was equally at loss to understand the continued selection of both side by side. Maybe he was hoping his big name players would rise to the occasion.Failed though, didn't it?

The way he was talking about his job being safe if we lose before a big game says it all. He was admitting defeat before we got out there.

Yes big time, just like we all predicted on here.

If he wanted to stay, he woulda dropped certain players and shown some bottle. Same subs every game, same awful wingers, same lack of creativity and same lack of balls.

For most of the season i have been questioning what has gone wrong with us and how much blame to lay with Carlo. There have clearly been aspects that are not his fault, players form horribly poor, interference from the board with regards to Wilkins and Emanalo. However the way we set up to play most games and the poor substitutions can only be layed at Carlo's feet. We do not play with any tempo whatsoever, closing down is non-existant we are content to allow teams to put balls into our box with no pressure at all and hope we can clear it. We make things so easy for the opposition. The Alex for Ferreira substitution was an absolute joke. In a game that big if Alex was not fit to play the 90 mins then don't play him, or move Essien to right bak and bring on an attacking player like Benayoun or Zhirkov. When chasing 2 goals what sort of substitution was that.

I have my doubts about Carlo's ability given the summer to turn things around and get us playing. I do not want to see us sack another manager because we desperately need continuity but i don't know what the answer is....

This club needs a visionary like rinus Michels who can work from the grass root level. Sadly our management will not let that happen.

I agree, we do need a visionary. The obvious is to look at people with sucess. But i say just because someone hasn't managed at a top level does not mean that can't. Even someone like Brendan Rodgers, has his teams playing good football and gets the best out of them........

Surely people have to appreciate his job was made that much difficult with the (non) availability of options in the small squad? People say you need wingers but who's he going to put on when we don't have wingers? Bench Lampard, but play who exactly? Josh the 17 year old? Against weak opposition -yes it's possible; but against the big boys? Throw the boy in at the deep end and hope for the best? Don't kid me. It's easy to say that in hindsight when emotions are high but find me someone who'd rather wake up on the day of a big game and be happy to see Josh there instead of Lampard. You'd blame him for precisely that decision if we'd go on to lose. Truth is he's been in a damned if he does, damned if he doesn't position all season long. There's no fucking way Sturridge, Bruma and Kakuta should've been loaned out though.

The genesis for this season's woes was laid in not replacing the summer exodus - FACT.

There is a risk in bringing a manager who does not manage a top level. And that is the ability to manage the egos of the big club. Roy Hodgeson was wonderful at fullham and again he is doing great at west Brom. But he could not manage Liverpool.

this motivation thing is very much overrated to me. these bunch of players never won European glory. Now they are in QF . If this alone can not motivate them then I dont know what else can do.

You mean to tell me you think Mourinho's biggest strength as a manager is overrated? I disagree with you then.

And why do you think there's always this big speech from the coach to get his players all hyped up and excited in those sports movies?

You are talking about team discipline , a firm game strategy.

So do you think Carlo would deliver a big speech in his italian english and player like Luiz and ramires would be hyped up and excited?

You know somebody who was under the tutelage of Mourinho will have something about him.

I doubt Ancelotti would have led Porto to the league title with 5 weeks to spare and to the semis of the Europa league.

No, Mourinho has nothing to do with Villas-Boas success.

If the league was as weak as last year and we had such an easy run the FA Cup then I think he would have.

Ancelotti is ordinary in every sense.

You could say the same for United this season and if they won it the last season.

Fergie is another good motivator, but if people want to overlook it then fair enough.

If making fun of Berbatov is motivation then fair enough. They are scared of him.
