For next season, we could do an Xpert 11 Champions League.

It works exactly the same as the real-life UCL works; we will have a group phase and knock-out stages. The top two teams from each group would then go through to the Quarters, Semis and obviously the Final itself.

The only problem is this means that if we have 22 teams, it means that only 8 go through to the later stages. Of course other sides will be able to play friendly matches, but it would be very harsh to have teams play the six games in the group stage and then not get to play again.

The other two options are:

• Regular league season, with two games a week, taking approx. 7 weeks.
  
• Regular league season, with one game a week, allowing for in-season friendlies and a cup competition. Everyone plays the minimum 12/14 league matches and at least two cup games. The only problem is the season would last for 3 months.

We should have the cup but try and get the 32 team quota even if most of the newbies don't come on again, shall i message some members that i think might be interested?

The cons of a Champions League far outweigh the pros. Besides, the league format should be a constant.

It's not worth the risk of getting banned from the game, if you're going to do that, do it on another IP address or via proxy server.

I like the idea of regular season + cup. I don't mind that the season takes longer; makes it sweeter to achieve your goals in it, imo.

It's defiantly good at the start when your alternating between league and cup, it gives you more games to get DV up aswell.

On the flip side the season can drag at the end when the cup is over however, which is why Alex only enter's the cup once every few season's, like a world cup so to speak.

I only played two seasons so far so I've never played a cup, and honestly I'm excited to see how I do in one.

Yeh, i royally fucked up in the first round last time against Kildare Blues, so im determined to do better this time and i have a much better team than i did back then.

btw away goals do count double i think, my public team went through in a cup on away goals a couple of season's back.

BlueLion when are we getting this underway?, the season will be long enough as it is (12/13 weeks), without having to wait ages for it to begin again.

Tuesday 15th would be a good start date, depends which days the cup would be though.

I got messaged by Tomo, and i said i will probably play again. It caused a lot of trouble for me last time, but what ever i'll just give it another go, but cannot do it untill after 22nd of this month, because that's when my exams finish.

The TalkChelsea Shield!

The tournament has been seeded based on the teams that featured in the last TC Shield competition. Therefore, recent entries to the league must face a preliminary round against those knocked out in the first round of the previous edition!

Round 1 Fixtures (TWO LEGS; home and away. First team is at home first):

• Athletic Strikers (22nd seed) vs The Fookers (11th seed)
  
• Serbian Headhunters (21) vs UpTheChels (12)
  
• Fight Club (20) vs Blue Bulls (13)
  
• Kiwi FC (19) vs Randalls Ramblers (14)
  
• Own Goals FC (18) vs Nour FC (15)
  
• High Flyer FC (17) vs Baselona (16)
  

Cups games are ever Saturday. The first round takes place on the 12th of May, with the second legs the following weekend.

The League season consists of games every Tuesday, beginning 15th of May.

Meanwhile, the other teams in the league are able to contest friendly matches at weekends.
