Madmax 9,219
No, more like he brushed against someone ( Thiago Motta) and he went down like he had taken a cannonball in his nether regions. But then he himself got sent off in the semi against Barcelona ( this time due to Busquet's playacting). Karma's a bitch.

NattyBlue 44
@ Zola: yes yes yes that's what's needed to be done, ween them all into the team, like with Kalou being the sub of X amount of years we know he's going to come on kinda thing, now with Studge and Kakuta etc we should try and do the same with them
zli_zo 0
CechFerreira Alex Ivanovic AshMikelEssien LampardAnelka MaludaKaluThis, I think, would be our team for the game... DD is suspended but Kalu can do the job because he is in very good shape. Anelka and Maluda has been rested against W'ham. Lampard is fit and I think Carlo could put him as starter for easy game, just to find his form more quicly after 10 days, and we need a captain in this game because I think Terry will not play. He needs some rest.Carefree :blue scalf:

Peace. 4,352
Carlo Ancelotti has this afternoon discussed the fitness of his three England players, two of whom will not travel to Slovakia for our Champions League date with MSK Zilina on Wednesday. The manager is able to include his captain on the trip but the vice-captain remains sidelined. 'John Terry trained today and he will travel. The players we have out and unavailable are Bosingwa and Lampard,' Ancelotti said. 'Jose still needs some time. Frank also needs some more time before he is ready to play, but he should be okay for the game on Sunday. 'Ashley Cole will also stay out for the game on Wednesday because I want to give him some rest. He played two games with the national team and he also played on Saturday. There is no problem, but it is better for him to rest.' I reckon the starting eleven will be :CechFerreira - Iva - Alex - ZhirkovMikelEssien - Ramires? - Malouda?edit : oh shit, we have posted the news at the same time ^^. Donny 0
Sure Nico will step up to the mark without Didier as he did last season in the early group stage games. Pretty confident about this one.

Kostas 1,468
So we'll be playing without Drogba,Lampard and Cole maybe even JT,clearly some rotation kicking in.Zhirkov is obviously going to play 90 minutes unless he gets himself injured again.Benayoun may also play instead of Ramires.I wonder who's going to be our striker though,is Anelka even capable of playing upfront on his own anymore?I doubt it,either Kalou or Sturridge will replace Drogba. He even has said recently that he is no more a "real striker".Kalou or Sturridge would be as far a better choice

BlueLion. 21,491
Anelka was great when he played up top by himself in March against Villa and Man United, and especially well when Drogba was away with the Cote d'Ivoire for the AfCoN in January/February. I have faith in him to be able to score if he does play up top.And granted, Anelka has been shit for France, but so has their whole squad, so that's a null argument
The Big Drog 1,110
Like BlueLion said, Nic was tremendous leading the line when he was needed last season. Never more so than in the 7-0 demolition of Villa and the win at OT against Man Utd, his movement and understanding with Malouda is incredibly sharp and intelligent. That being said I wouldnt mind seeing Sturridge get some game time.
