Guest justin_3d
I still think we need him. Ivan is not as pacy like Bosingwa to deploy a fast attacking on the right side.VDW will bring that for us.

Spike 12,049
I really hope we land VDW if we sell Bosingwa. Apparently he can tackle, cross and score a handful of goals too. While we are at it, we should poach some of Ajax's other promising youth. Christian Eriksen and Siem de Jong, anyone?
Domino- 116
Where Did All Of The Gregory Van Der Wiel Rumours Go?Amidst all the whisperings of potential Chelsea moves last winter, one stuck out. Widely repeated, this rumour had the Blues going after young Ajax and Holland right back Gregory van der Wiel. Van der Wiel, whom Steve profiled in may, isn't one of football's flashiest names, and he certainly didn't have the sex appeal of the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Neymar. What he was (well, I suppose he still is) was a solid, reliable, two way right back who'd probably come relatively cheap. For a team like Chelsea, that would be a huge benefit.http://www.weaintgot...chelsea-july-
Guest justin_3d
AVB will screw himself if he don't get a RB like him.
BlueLion. 21,491
Ivanovic and Bosingwa are better than any other right-back in the Premier League, I really think we're wasting money on buying VdW.
Domino- 116
I am of the opinion that it would rely on Ferreira and Bosingwa and Ivanovic of course
lionsden 4,689
While I agree that we do need to buy a right back as Bosingwa has deteriorated to the point of no return and Ivanovic lacks the technical ability and pace required for the position, VDW however is not the solution to our RB worries. . . . . . he's barely above average and way overpriced. Joker10 946
I don't get the hype this kid gets, every time i watch him play he gets raped by the opposing winger. People who watch Eredivisie would argue that VDW was the weakest link of Ajax defense in the last campaign. Suarez was the best player in Eredivisie for the last couple years ffs, nothing close to this overrated RB.Why is it Torres name always gets randomly thrown out in every thread? Guest justin_3d
Because it was the same with Ibra, till he did good with Milan. At the moment Torres is the biggest flop in history and biggest waste of money.Till he proves otherwise he will be the reference as the biggest mistake by a club! BlueLion. 21,491
When Torres wins the golden boot and we win the league, will you have faith in him then? However this is a thread on VdW, so let's get back on track...
Guest justin_3d
Look at this, Ibra was the biggest flop in history for Barcelona...and till a certain extend he still is, but he did good with Milan, that it got some monkeys of his back.Torres is and still is a major flop. If he wins the golden boot and help Chelsea win the PL, then yes all criticism will cease to exist!
BlueLion. 21,491
For the record, I don't see how people call Zlatan a flop at Barcelona when he scored 22 goals in his only season there. I believe he scored more goals for Barcelona in 09/10 than he did last year for Milan. When Torres wins the golden boot and we win the league, will you have faith in him then? However this is a thread on VdW, so let's get back on track...
