Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has hinted at more additions to follow the capture of former Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun.

Buck admitted Chelsea were "looking at some things", having released Joe Cole, Michael Ballack and Juliano Belletti, and with Deco being heavily linked with a move to his native Brazil.

Benayoun, signed from Liverpool, is the club's only summer acquisition thus far, but Buck does not envisage "anything major" in terms of transfers.

"We're very happy with the squad we have now," Buck told the Guardian, "so if there are any more additions, it will be fine-tuning. Whether or not they'll work out, who knows? We'll just see how it goes over the next six weeks."

If he really said something like that in the Guardian (wich is more reliable), there should be an original interview? Let's wait and see if something of this is true!

Only time will tell. I would be very shocked if the club did not bring in at least 1 more decent signing for the midfield after so many left. We have replacements in our youth but we still need some experience.

agreed . we definitely need some experience in that area after letting go of three of our very experienced midfielders.. but i would rather have someone in the mid 20s like 24 or 25 so he can be expeienced but young and has some running legs as well not an old weak 30 years old guy whistling.gif

I think we are just waiting for CIty to wrap up their transfer dealings so that we can move in without any fear of getting out-bidden !!! But the line 'Nothing Major' does indeed worry me :( Or is it a move by Buck to compensate for last yrs talks... We did not sign any1 after his talks abt Marquee signing.. So may be he wants to bring joy to all of us by saying no one major and then surprise us with a killer signing whistling.gifblue%20scalf.gif

Well we shouldn't be expecting him to say "Oh we're after X, Y and Z." He's just being diplomatic. The last thing we want is those pretenders Citeh getting into a bidding war with us over someone we really are after, because that's all they seem to do - they wake up in the morning, read Chelsea or Real Madrid or whoever are interested in X, become aware of X's existence and then throw bundles of quids at him.
