Jon 18
As long as he's well past his best I'm ALL for it... wouldn't mind getting to see even HALF his current form in person. But that's just me being jealous.
HRiver 1,512
Why wouldn't he end his career with Chelsea? I really don't understand why big players decide to quit their career in the US.
Term-X 7,891
"I've been getting to know a lot about property, not just for me to live in, but as a business. "I have a family to support, I know that might sound strange when you consider the money that's mentioned but I want to have a career after this, I don't want this to be everything. "I don't want to spend the rest of my life just living in the past."i thought he would have made a great manager, calm & intelligent. Wilson 358
If he does it will probably happen in 5 years time. He has a lot left in him.
Rubber bullets 1,183
Why wouldn't he end his career with Chelsea? I really don't understand why big players decide to quit their career in the US.Cos most Americans don't give a shit about footballers and therefore don't give them unnecessary attention. BluesChick 1,260
He could go about his life with out being hounded or photographed you mean?? His children could grow up with out having to wonder if their friends just wanted to get to know them for their dad??? LOL sorry there a few of us Americans that follow football, but most Americans think of it as that other sport! so you're right. I have to admit my first thought when I read the statement was "WHY??" But I would go out of my way to see him play, much more so than I would to see Beckham play, but it was a circus when he moved to LA that it make me sick to my stomach just watching him and Victoria on the news every night!!! Wilson 358
http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=790933&sec=global&cc=5739I always remember him saying he and JT would love to do their coaching together and get their badges and all and perhaps manage Chelsea. Anyone else remember? Please please don't go to the US Frank!

BlueLion. 21,491
There's quite an obvious reason why he'd want to go to America - the money's good. Not that he's not on good money with Chelsea, but look at Beckham's wages, for instance. This won't happen for four years or so, I imagine. boshman 1,073
He said on the "Star on the Stool" event with JT that him, JT and Ash are all doing their coaching badges together and joked that it's going to be a race to see who could become Chelsea manager first. So the source they got those quotes from about him not wanting to go into mangement isn't very reliable obviously.
Wilson 358
Yeah but he's said he'd love to be Chelsea manager and many would love to see that. He wouldn't say it if he didn't wanna do it. I know we can't take it too seriously but it's a better thing to do rather than go to America lol. P
