Got New Orders Age of Consent with Blue Monday and a 12" demo of Blue Monday

Dj'd with some of the 2 Tone bands.and the Mod bands very late 70s early 80s but was very despondent about that whole scene as allot of the bands werem't anything at all like the image they portrayed and were just put together by record companys as marketing ploys. Had a fight with all the guys from Secret Affair off the head one night telliing them some home truths. Twats

Never liked Buster Bloodvessel. Thought he was just a prat. I like all the early Ska. All the early Blue Note, Island and Studio One label stuff. But have a very good memory of this that makes me smile.

The early Skins were OK. Before they brought the whole racial shit into it. They used to knock about with the Blacks back then. Loved each other united by the music and dress sense..

Heres a couple for Mz Vesper

White Power and outright Neo Nazi 'skins' are just bald racists, they can sod off.

Around when this came out this was a real big underground scene. There were 'tribes' (Groups of kids from all over that would go to big clubs/partys dressed in costume - Cavemen,Pirates,Clowns,Cybermen) and meet up at these Jazz Funk nights. Djs like me old mucka Colin Curtis,Ian Levine,Greg Edwards,,Chris Hill,Steve Walsh all brought their followers with them. Excellent times.

But right now Ive got his album on and just starting to gloss me skirting boards. What better time to do it at 3:30 stoned lol Laters peeps Love and Peace 6f02b3209ecf76980440679744810772.gif

I had a year working there in 76/77 selling dope in Ricks Cafe/Hunters Bar and The Last Watering Hole and lived in and helped the girls in a brothel. And coming back to England most weeks to goto Wigan Casino then straight back to the Dam. Hellova life for a lad then! Never would I have missed it.

I'm sure I must have posted this already but its gotta be worth a double post Great guy. Saw him with Bowie do a acapella of Quicksand and Kiss From a Rose

Never understood this whole rappers handbags shit. Is it jealousy? Why dont they just knock on each others doors with some CS and a Tazer?

Never been able to get into allot of the tunes neither. Like some

Started far too young and finished far too old but the bit in between was fun most of the time lol

YESSS! it makes the Desert Island list but my problem is my list changes by the hour! It would honestly drive me scatty if I had to refine it to a certain number. Typical Libran in that way.

This goes back to my roots. A very big tune from Blackkpool Mecca/Wigan Casino circa 75

Take no notice of the dancers. They are professionals that were just hired for some utter shite Northern Soul rip off movie and trained by regular soulies. One of my hates is people making money out of the scene and these utter shite movies that are supposed to be what it was like back when but are nothing like the scene I know and love Grrr Grrr Grrrr!!!!

But the sounds are still great!

Yeah man I'm buzzing, thought Kamikaze was ass on first listen but it has grown on me, sick lyrics. Kelly's response was pretty good, but that's about it... Em is gonna put him back to his place soon enough. Tho this isn't an appropriate thread for this, think we should move to the hip-hop thread to discuss this.

I love Massive Attack this is and there's no other word for it a beautiful song and a stunning video.

I must admit to being very chemically unbalanced ATM (and I normally stay well away from texting online when I am lol)  but I've never actually listened (or seen) any of their stuff before apart from being BG noise but I just spent some time listening to and watching this and it got me thinking.

And really don't want to sound cheesey or bullshiity but it made me think this is just why I like forums (some, well FEW). Recently I've always thought I was open minded about most things but I do know I'm a stubborn sod too. But lately I've found myself changing my mind about things I've felt quite strongly about before. Small example being Ive always thought we should buy complete players that were trained to play in one position other than one who I describe as a Swiss army knife - dual functional. But after a few text comments with @Special Juan who basically said the modern day footballer has to be multi positional and found myself agreeing with him.

And tho I've got a very eclectic taste in music I've shrugged off some stuff as just being 'meh',

But as I said I dunno if it's this green stuff or what but I really got into this Iggy. I sat and went thru allot of their stuff and their vids are amazing. Really trippy stuff. You seen this one! I tell ya my Mrs was well into strange visual media and she would be raving over this too. MAYBE why I got so into it. Dunno.

Real shame you gave the weed up mate cause you would probably appreciate this allot.
