This is from an article about Ivanovic from December 2009: "As it stands, he will only have one year left on his contract at the end of this season but Chelsea will hope to extend it by another four years."

So basically Ivanovic current contract expires after 2010/2011 season but I think we'll sign him up for 4 years now this summer.

oh so his contract will run out after next season..

well then.. think i'll get him at the back of my shirt.

In that case loan him for another year.There's absolutely no reason to let him go if he's good.

Agreed he is good enough to be at Chelsea but i dont think he will want to sit on the bench either. Agreed loan him out again. But honestly why wouldn't he want to be at one of the best clubs in the world and earn his place.
