We'd be fine without Roman

CHAIRMAN Bruce Buck insists Chelsea would survive if Roman Abramovich walked away.

Abramovich has transformed the Blues' fortunes since buying the club from Ken Bates in 2003.

And many critics claim Chelsea would be on the verge of collapse if the Russian billionaire ever decided to end his love affair with football.

But Buck said: "I think we'd be in a reasonably good state if Mr Abramovich left.

"However, we are comfortable — the directors of Chelsea Football Club are comfortable — that he is here for the long haul.

"Every year we're required to look at that. We're comfortable and we don't see it as an issue at all."

He'll leave eventually, but I remember reading somewhere a few years ago that his intentions were to pass on control of the club to his son. I'm not sure what age he is now, but I think I saw him recently at a match and he's still in his teens.

I dont think it would be wise to have us owned by a teenybopper

I'm speaking on behalf of my own opinion here so I'm sorry if I sound wrong or mistaken, but I thank Roman for everything that has happened to Chelsea, I think of him as a father of Chelsea and without him I dont think we would of been where we are today, one of the greatest football teams in the world with great staff and skillful players. I'd be sad to see him go when he eventually leaves.

I agree and to think that he was looking at Spurs initially and came us to because of the traffic on the Tottenham High Road, best move that ever happened from what I've read.

True, in another 6 years he'll be 48...

He's younger than I thought he was, I can't see him leaving just yet, unless he's got ambitions elsewhere, maybe he's seen that there is potential in Spurs

him leaving would have a detrimental affect on the players mentality's and the football agenda world wide, we would no longer be a big club and signings would be similar to a club like aston villa and spurs.

probably best we all pray to whatever god it is you believe in that aethetic relic's theory has leverage.
