Chelsea Wait On Terry Foot X-ray

_44304462_terry203x152afp.jpgChelsea captain John Terry faces an anxious wait to determine the extent of a foot injury suffered during the 1-0 defeat by Arsenal. Terry limped off in the first half after a challenge with Emmanuel Eboue and may have suffered ligament damage. Terry will have an X-ray on Sunday and Chelsea boss Avram Grant said: "It was a bad injury." "He is not feeling well but he didn't break anything. We will wait for Monday to see how it is." Eboue caught Terry after leaving his foot dangling when he overran a ball, which the Chelsea centre-back cleared. Terry had returned from a knee problem and cheekbone injury on 24 November against Derby after nearly seven weeks on the sidelines. He absence led to him missing England's final Euro 2008 qualifier against Croatia as the national team failed to earn the draw they needed to reach next summer's finals. But he helped Chelsea beat Derby and played in five games when the Blues remained unbeaten before the loss at Arsenal. Grant already has Terry's regular central defensive partner Ricardo Carvalho and striker Didier Drogba on the sidelines. But he could welcome back midfielder Michael Ballack, who hasn't played since April after two operations on his left ankle, for Wednesday's Carling Cup quarter-final against Liverpool. "We will test him tomorrow (Monday) and if he feels good, he will be available for Wednesday," Grant added.

We get back Drogba, Carvalho and Ballack but lose Terry. Better than nothing ... When was the last time we had an injury-free squad and were able to field our full-strength squad ? I believe it was in the second season when we won the league.

Out for six weeks apparently. 3 broken bones in his foot!

Edit: Damn, Mike just beat me to it! :)

Ha ha.And Avram said yesterday that his foot was not broken and for fans not to worry.

Not only is he inept in tactics,he is also a bullshitter.

Course he's a bullshitter, how else is he in management?

Guess we'll see what he's really made of now he's starting to experience a little bit of adversity. My guess is we're screwed.

Its not the first time we've faced this sort of situation, difference is, in the past we trusted the manager to use his skills and get us through it. Anyone trust the manager this time?

Obviously I'll be crushed in the stampede to offer support here!

Then again this is JT,6 weeks might mean hopfully a lot less.

Still apprantly eboue apogised!Bit late!Grrrr, lost the game and lost one of our best players.Still Lamps does play better when he's captain so maybe it'll be good in the goal scoring sense

As far as injuries are concerned, we're just unlucky.

- Carvalho gets an injury

- Terry gets Injured, Carvalho returns

- Terry comes back then Carvalho gets injured

- Then just as when Carvalho looks like he's coming back, Terry gets injured "again"!

It's like we can't get them on the same teamsheet week in week out, and it really pisses me off.

As if we're already worried about who else might not be with us at this difficult time of the season.
