This has always flummoxed me. Why does Clarke not bowl much? Is it a case of confidence? I've seen him take a 6-for against us at my hometown back in 2004.. I admit the pitch was a bit of a minefield but 6 wickets against the best players of spin in the world in their own backyard is no joke.

He has chronic back problems, I think he doesn't bowl often to prolong his career.

Yep, exactly this. He only does it when he absolutely has to, to get a breakthrough wicket. Plus batting captains hardly ever bowl themselves.

Yep, some rubbish selections from our selectors. Smith is decent but not for this level. I don't know why we didn't pick Pattinson. The Aussies can be so frustrating. At our best we can destroy any team in the world, all the other times we're just average-pretty good. We're too inconsistent and can't seem to deal with good seam bowling, which is obviously a problem against the Pommies. Our Bowling also needs to improve a bit. Right now it looks like we struggle away from home. We better shape up and get ourselves back into the series.

Aussies are so frustrating to watch. FFS can't even get the simple things right. Why is that donkey faggot Doherty in the team? Johnson should just retire. I don't know what happened to him. He had the world at his feet. Siddle and Pattinson should be in the team. In all honesty I expect England to win the series comprehensively. I just hope we win at least 1 match as a 5-0 whitewash would result in the Pommies replacing us as the number 1 ranked ODI team. Consistency and playing away from home are our big problems.
