Vijay aside, i agree with that. The problem with Vijay is that too often when he opens, India are down 4/1 or something like that. Puts pressure on the middle order.

Exactly, he just doesn't inspire any confidence in the team. Can Rohit Sharma open? Squeez in Dinesh Karthik somehow!

Yuvraj as well.

But I can't say with confidence that Vijay and Rohit Sharma will step up. Pujara should be brought into the ODI team especially with the away tours coming up

Yuvi is fine TBH! He still has 2-3 years of international cricket left in him. Just let him get his fitness back, he is pretty important allrounder for the team! Atleast he is essential for the ODI team!

Haven't we been over this Rohit Sharma talk? For all the 'potential' everyone keeps harping on about, the only thing that matters is performance, and fact remains that he's been nothing short of abysmal in that department. Yeah, the odd fifty here and there but even a broken clock is correct twice a day. What is it, 80+ ODI appearances? Fuck me, he is very lucky to even be in the consideration when you look at the chances he has fluffed. He's been around since the 2007 t20. That makes me feel old.

There was talk of Rohit Sharma opening with Shikhar. Given the lack of a natural opener in the squad, I think it is true

Dhawan, R Sharma, Kohli, Raina, Karthik, Dhoni, Jadeja, Ashwin, B Kumar, Umesh , Ishant would be my XI.

Vinay Kumar should practice delivering drinks more than bowling. He shouldn't even be considered.

Murali Vijay - Backup batsman if Rohit fails

Irfan Pathan - has lost his bearings but he is still the only left-arm seamer in the squad.

Amit Mishra - Good backup for the spin dept.

Just shows how much the BCCI values IPL performances. Rohit, Karthik, Mishra and Vinay Kumar are in there because of IPL.

He could be but he needs to butch up his batting.

Haha!! True that! I guess this pic is perfect to describe the Rohit Sharma conundrum.

First game vs South Africa. Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel vs Rohit Sharma.

Vinay Kumar - that actually made me laugh. The India cap is such a cheap giveaway nowadays. Thank fuck they didn't make Dinda captain <_<

He's abysmal. In Bangalore, we call him the "Davangere Express" (he hails from there) and that is not a compliment.

Not only him but can you imagine Raina playing Dale's and Morne's short deliveries I mean i like Raina but he just CANNOT play short pitched balls. The best and easiest tactic to get him out: Bowl a fast short pitch and he is walking back to the pavilion.

:D

So we play Pakistan, South Africa and West Indies in our group!! And only 2 teams go through for the group, damn that's gonna be tough!! South Africa should be favorites to win this tournament. Pakistan will always pack a punch. West Indies, well you never know with them!

Pakistan well rested this time though. But Gul will be a big miss

TBH gul has been performing below par for a while now,Although he always performs well in england.I am very confident with the duo of Irfan and junaid hopefully backed up by the promising Ehsan Adil.

Don't tell me you have unearthed another fast swinging bowler who is gonna torment everyone with his seam bowling.

God damn. what is it with you Pakistanis and Fast bowlers.

India vs Pakistan will be noisier than any England game, I bet!
