How do i explain this, uhm aright, Somalians and I are quite similar, we both like Pirates, and are kinda broke and we both have a profoundly deep love for the sea, and we are all peaceful and are completely against Kidnapping other ships and crews :halo:

Don't hate me for saying this, but Big Bash has more quality than IPL *runs away*

I fucking despise IPL. Infact i hate the whole T20 cricket. It's destroying Indian cricket and there are thing that i never thought i would see on a cricket field but IPL made it so and i don't mean it in a complimentary way!! I bloody hope IPL gets banned or something. Too much fanboyism and idiotic fans who don't even know why there are field restriction in the first 6 overs!!

I am pretty sure that the IPL will influence the Champions Trophy squad more than ODI/Test form and actual experience. For instance Cheteshwar Pujara who has been great in tests and has shown that he can accelerate when needed, is not included in the 30-man preliminary squad.

Expect to see Vinay Kumar in the ODI team because of his Purple cap but in truth Vinay has not really 'gained' wickets as much as the wickets have 'fallen' for him. Usually when the batsman slogs and misses. He's a hardworker but that's about it. He is a terrible bowler. It's like the Kalou situation at Chelsea.

Taking nothing away from Gayle but a yorker or a typical Lee bouncer would have got him out before any of his monster hitting :P

completely disagree. it's easy to say that he'll get out to a good ball but his consistency in the format just ridicules your point. He has the highest runs in the IPL in the last 2 years and has the highest runs so far this year.

he starts slow. every game he reads the bowling for first 3-4 overs. on occassion he's paced his innings, (often in a chase), and has spent time in the middle.

also, far from Lee's yorkers or bouncers, Gayle's struggled with quality spin - especially Ashwin

Pujara isn't in the squad? :o

Fuck you lalit modi and BCCI for bringing the IPL up and ruining the game for me!!

But the silver lining of IPL is that now whenever i go and watch the test match in the stadium, i am not surrounded by noobs who just want every ball to be hit for 6 because that's what they spent thier money for!

After IPL; Champions Trophy - West Indies Tri-Series, Australia ODI's, South Africa tour, New Zealand tour.

Should be good.

well it's your opinion, for me he still is an highly vulnerable player, who could get out rather quickly if been bowled cleverly . Oh and Ashwin is not really quality lol, I still remember that match when he got totaly outclassed by Watson and what's the ohter opener? uhm yeah Warner lol

Ashwin is real quality in Chepauk pitch. He plays half the IPL games + semis and final at Chennai - which is not fair btw- but he's unplayable there. Gayle was vulnerable at one point - like Sehwag is now - but over last 2-3 years, he has grown into a great + consistent T20 player.

I don't understand T20 lol, It's like far more easy to get players out if you'd bowl cleverly but I'm not quite sure if the bowlers have been told to bowl so bad or they are so shit lol.

That dude Dernbach of england is a fucking average player but he gets so many wickets cause he bowls with his mind, same with Ashwin, he's pretty good but not someone who could be labelled as unplayable.

Man, you cannot rate a player on his T20 performances lol.

I am talkin about T20 alone here. To make a fair assessment on a player, test cricket should obviously be the yard-stick.

Pretty excited to be honest with this young and hungry team.

My Line Up: Dhawan, Vijay, Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Raina,Dhoni, Jadeja, Ashwin, Umesh Yadav, Ishant, Bhuvi!

I don't have much confidence in Vijay. Will he be able to play in seaming conditions. Dinesh Karthik might get a look in too.

Also people say what's wrong with IPL? I ll tell you whats wrong with IPL. A player who hasn't played an international match has the audacity to sledge a player who is a legend of the game. Well done, Bisla! You should be very proud!

Oh, Gambhir was supposed to be India's captain? L.O.L

Vijay aside, i agree with that. The problem with Vijay is that too often when he opens, India are down 4/1 or something like that. Puts pressure on the middle order.

Death to the IPL!

Also, good riddance to Gambhir, Sehwag, Harbhajan, Zaheer. You served us well but your time is up. Hopefully this gang + Tendulkar quit Tests as well, would make us far more watchable.

Yuvraj as well.

But I can't say with confidence that Vijay and Rohit Sharma will step up. Pujara should be brought into the ODI team especially with the away tours coming up
