Chelsea are eyeing Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor.

The Sunday Express says Chelsea are ready to move in for Newcastle United’s England Under-21 defender Taylor as they prepare to sell skipper John Terry to Manchester City.

Taylor – like Terry, a no-nonsense defender – was devastated by Newcastle’s relegation.

Spurs also want 23-year-old Taylor, who although born in London rose through the Toon youth ranks to become an adopted Geordie.

But it’s Chelsea who are poised with a £10million bid as they anticipate an increased £35m City offer for Terry – one they will find hard to turn down.

Awesome defender, gives everything to the cause and 100% fully commited. Would always welcome him at Chelsea. If JT is to go (big if) then he's a very similar player to replace him.

Chelsea are lining up a £9million summer swoop for Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor.

The Blues are already planning for the introduction next season of the Premier League’s home-grown quota system and targeted the ex-England Under-21 skipper as an ideal recruit to boost their domestic numbers.

The 24-year-old has been on Chelsea’s radar since the days of Jose Mourinho, but the looming home-grown quota has hardened their interest this season.

Chelsea scout Bryan “Pop” Robson, a former Magpie, has been a regular visitor toSt James’ Park this term, where Taylor has been in eye-catching form at the heart of a Magpies defence that has proved one of the meanest in the Championship.

Its not about my linguistic ability, its about the bullshit you're talking mate :smiliecap1:

I don't like ppl, that write sth. down when they've heared about it in the media or from other ppl, don't have any facts for they're thesis and still think they're right.

But its not about me liking ppl, its about the quality of your post, so this was a bad one, seems like ppl like smashing Mikel only cause ha was a over motivated 20 year old boy, playing for the greatest club on earth, he has matured a LOT and thats a fact.

so back to topic.

greets from GERMANY

Would be a half decent sigining. He's strong, committed, Good header of the ball. A similar mould to JT. The only thing is i can't see him getting in ahead of JT, Carvalho and Alex. Would be a bad career move for him in my opinion.
