the wes 7,212
Branislav Ivanovic says he's ready to play at left-back for Chelsea against Barcelona's Lionel Messi next week. Ivanovic could be handed the job in the Champions League semi with Ashley Cole suspended and told chelseafc.com: "I played there one time at Lokomotiv Moscow, but just one time. "I know the situation, and I don't know if the coach will decide this, but I am here."
stapin 0
I think, Ivanovic can't take rensposible to care the Barca strikers. Better Hiddink reformat to put more defender.
5354 204
shit no! Messi is way way way far more than your expectations, Ivanovic! I rather let bosingwa do the job. right foot vs right foot.
SystemBlueBob 0
Good. I love confidence. Much rather this then someone afraid
warnie_666 1,081
Bosinwga? Wtf...He is a genuine RB. Id play someone who has been playing recently rather than throwing someone who has been on bench for a month, to face Messi. In this case Ivanovic. Plus at setpieces Ivanovic can be a threat. No Belleti please. He couldnt defend well against a Mid Table team in the premier league..Messi will rip him apart.
Elliott 7
Ivanovic has surely got to be the right bet for this role.

BlueLion. 21,491
If he breaks Messi's leg as well, its two birds with one stone.
We Hate Scouse 10,326
Has to be Ivanovic, I can't see anyone else doing it aswell! I bet he plays quality there aswell.
chelseadaft 0
I would play Essien there and Ivanovic on the right. Just so Essien's strength up against Messi could really do us a favour!
EskWeston 696
Ivanovic is the only choice in reality. I can't think of another player i would play there. Messi is a quality player, but we need to stop thinking of him as some sort of god! He will not enjoy the run of the park against us. And we will give them something to worry about aswell. For me the back 4 against Barca should be Bosingwa, Carvalho, Terry, Ivanovic.
terry26 6
If he breaks Messi's leg as well, its two birds with one stone. could not agree more with that
Cameron 30
It's him or Mancienne then. I would prefer Ivanovic, but ONLY if Bosingwa is fit.
warnie_666 1,081
Boswinga needs to be match fit. He needs to play tomorrow and the weekend game against West Ham. Mancienne has said he was played at LB during the reserve game. But Id play Ivanovic who at the moment is in a groove.
Elliott 7
Saw on Sky Sports News today that Bosingwa still isn't fit...
