chrismada9 1,948
Chelsea defender Paulo Ferreira has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury. The Portugal international is the third Chelsea player to suffer the knee problem this season, with Joe Cole and Michael Essien also affected. Ferreira, 30, has only been on the fringes of the first team this term, starting just one Premier League game. He has appeared as substitute in a further six matches. ------------------------------------ http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...sea/7928801.stm ------------------------------------ shame to see him get injured, even though he is third choice right back. Our very useful utility man is out, which sucks
diskoviolente 425
It´s a shame. I think Ferreira is a very good defender, always at his best when his playing. Good to have one more defence option with Mancienne

5354 204
mancienne to cover for left-back, anyone?
Elliott 7
We have no obvious cover for left-back now, unless Mancienne is capable of playing there.

Elliott 7
Perhaps you are right badboy, although we might not hold the option to recall him, not sure.

warnie_666 1,081
Read in the Malouda internview on CFC, that he will now cover Ashley cole as the Left Back since Ferrira is out.

Steve 10,227
Such a shame, we really need some cover on that left side. If malouda has to cover on that side of the field we are going to be in all sorts of trouble. Whenever there is a 50 50 tackle, i agree with what alex said he always seems to pull out so i think we might be in some trouble. What about Juliano does anyone reckon he could cover on the left side if needed?
Kez 2,727
What a really smart move selling Bridge. Reminds me of the 04/05 season when we sold Babayaro and bridge broke his ankle then we were playing with ferreira at left back then he got injured so gallas was playing there. We don't learn from mistakes we need cover
BlueLion. 21,491
I'll be surprised if Bertrand isn't recalled, to be honest.
misschief 24
Can't Ivanovic play across the back?
