EMILE HESKEY, Kenwyne Jones and Kevin Davies are the shock names on Luiz Felipe Scolari’s New Year shopping list.

The Chelsea boss will be forced to scour the bargain bucket for the striker he has made a priority.

It’s in stark contrast to the last transfer window when Roman Abramovich was prepared to smash the British transfer record for Robinho.

Sights But times have changed dramatically since August 31 when only a last-minute bid by Manchester City gazumped Chelsea.

Even so, eyebrows will be raised that Scolari now has the likes of Heskey, Davies and Jones — who scored twice in Sunderland’s 4-0 win over West Brom — in his sights.

All three are big, powerful strikers in the mould of Didier Drogba, which is sure to increase speculation over the Ivorian’s future at Stamford Bridge.

Price

Jones would be the perfect replacement for Drogba but even a £9million transfer tag might prove too prohibitive for owner Abramovich.

He would prefer a smaller outlay for a player who is initially only likely to cover for Drogba and Nicolas Anelka.

England striker Heskey will be one of the most sought-after players in the window.

With only six months of his contract remaining, Wigan owner Dave Whelan ready to cash in.

Both Heskey and Bolton’s 31-year-old Davies would only cost in the region of £3m — a price that would suit Chelsea down to the ground.

A Blues insider explained: “All three are similar players who would give Chelsea a totally different option and that’s something we desperately need.

“Okay, they might not score a lot of goals themselves but they are all a handful and can create havoc in any defence.

“The fact is, the days of big spending are over . . . and they won’t be back for a while.”

Seriously, this is what we can afford??

For all these years we have been buying the topdown, this year we get done by the fucking credit crunch, Manchester City suddenly become the richest club in the world, and we have the possibility of signing Emile fucking Heskey??

Well, if Abramovich believes we are going to get success in the next 100 years then he has turnips growing out of his ears!

All laughable?

With the money we have this January any of these will be good buys. We do not need a striker thats going to get 20 goals a season at the moment. Anelka is the league's top scorer...and Drogba is just coming back. For me these 3 strikers are 3 of the most underated players in the Premier league. A strikers job is not only to score goals. All 3 of these strikers have great physical presence and are very difficult for defenders to handle. And they would be great as back up for Drogba. With the amount of injuries Drogba has picked up in recent seasons isn't that what we need? Personally for me Scolari should partner both Anelka and Drogba at front. Heskey is now an England regular who forms great partnerships with other strikers. Just look at Tony Cotees and Owens goal scoring records when they played with Heskey. John Terry said Heskey is the hardest striker hes came up agaisnt. All of three of these strikers could offer us something different. Which we have been crying out for and they would give us back up for Drogba until the summer. With the money Scolari has to spend any three of these would be a good buy i can't beleive no one else can see that.
