Tasked with finding a new club for Abdukodir Khusanov (20), Jorge Mendes is doing his utmost to secure a place for the RC Lens defender in the Premier League. Marseille's aspirations have taken a hit.

As the winter transfer window approaches, Marseille's priorities are clear. According to L'Équipe, Roberto De Zerbi has targeted four positions to strengthen this winter: a right-back, a central defender, a left-sided central defender, and an attacking midfielder.

In defense, Marseille can now forget about the path leading to Abdukodir Khusanov (20). Mandated by RC Lens to find him a new home in January, Mendes is focusing on securing a move for the defender to the Premier League.

“Out of reach; the PL is already on it,” remarks Marseille insider Marwan Belkacem on X.

“Tottenham and Newcastle have been informed that they need to act quickly for Khusanov. Lens is also open to selling Danso, but they will only let one go in January. If Danso departs first, Lens will not sell Khusanov,” TBR Football reports.

With Khusanov now seemingly drifting away from Marseille, the likelihood of a transfer to the Ligue 1 side diminishes further. The Telegraph have already evoked an interest from Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United, however, Premier League interest in the centre-back is growing. Manchester City and Leicester City have now also joined the race, whilst RB Leipzig are also tracking Khusanov. Foot Mercato understands that Paris Saint-Germain’s sporting director Luís Campos has already met the player’s entourage, whilst Atletico Madrid are also in the race.

Lens are hoping for between €25-30m for Khusanov.

KDH are you serious? Casadei I don't think he has a future here, Chuku to be sold. So only leaves two.

Rashford is totally outside of our MO these days - old Chelsea yes, for sure, but never these days. He looks semi retired to me, just seeing out his playing years to maximise his income. Salary too high, age too high, and most importantly he'd be lucky to get a game in the Conference league for us.
