Ok we can say the Saudi’s have offered insane money all we want but if we had actually put together a half decent proposal - he’d already have agreed a move here by now. Not rocket science, we start fannying about, offers opportunities up to other teams. If he was 20 or 21 and had played 25-30 games in some obscure league you can bet your arse we would have paid the £115m release clause too.
