The childrens mothers were yards away collecting food from a plane according to the photographer with Carter. He saw the vulture land, and then he waited 20 minutes for the vulture to spread it's wings, but it wouldnt oblige.

He sold the pic for $6000 to a New York magazine apparently.

Horrible picture. I pride myself on the fact I give monthly to Unicef and have done a few fundraisers for them, but its still a sickening sight.

Oh my god! I don't think I've ever seen a more horrible picture :mellow:

The child dies in search of food so that it can be food for something else, that's heartbreaking to see something like that.
