Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has insisted that big stars won't be joining the club in the January transfer window.

The Londoners, who lead the Premier League, have spent big over the last few years but Buck has warned supporters not to expect any major talent to join in the New Year.

He said: 'It’s hard to get good players then because, one, they might not be available and, two, they may be cup-tied.

'There’s no point in bringing in players who aren’t as good as what you already have.'

'I think it’s unlikely we’ll have much activity in January.'

Well even though we have suffered from injury, i think we will be fine with our squad. Especially if we are going to be willing to use some younger players as cover. For example instead of bringing belletti on to play right wing, bring Sinclair on. And i can't believe Di Santo hasn't been given more oppertunities.

Agree with you on Di Santo, theres been plenty of occasions when he could have been brought on and give 20mins or so. Although Belletti has been given a new lease of life under LFS, he's been one of the surprise packages this season. He's shown his adaptabilty to play anywhere.

We havent that to worry about for a while now anyway since he's injured for several weeks. When he does get back from injuries, he'll be given even less opportunities now that Drogba is back and Anelka is in such a good run of form.

Yes Belletti has been good, but he is Scolari's solution to everything. He is ALWAYS brought on no matter what the situation. Like i said, if we need to change something on the wings, bring a winger in. We are not going to know what these players can do unless we put them in and give them the time. 3 nil up at half time would for me be the perfect time to blood some fresh new players but it never happens, not matter how much we have the game in the bag.

I werent expecting big signings lol, tight fuckers. You wouldve thought we were skint. we have the 2 most inconsistant wingers in world football. I understand the timings not great but we didnt exactly do much in July did we... You aint gonna win the "big games" with Kalou and Malouda as your 2 wingers.

I think we'll live with no big signings this January. We've been excellent so far this season, and that's without 3-4 big players participating reguarly. With Ballack, Essien, Drogba and Joe Cole back playing week in week out, that'll be more than enough for me in January. We'll also get Ben Sahar and Mancienne back from Portsmouth and Wolves... We're fine!

Our squad is small enough as it is, at the moment, I highly doubt anyone will be allowed to leave until the summer.

The 3 I mentioned have only played a few times so far so I think we'd be okay without one of them. The vacancy can be taken by Mancienne when he comes back, too.

Alex and Ivanovic have had a lot of money invested in them both to be brought to the Bridge, I doubt those two will be allowed to leave. Ferreira... there is a possibility he may be allowed to go elsewhere. However - if we go after Schweinsteiger, we can negotiate in January and bring him in on a free contract in the summer :D

TBH, we should never have bought Ivanovic so I don't mind if he's sold. Ferreira would be a better option to be sold tho' as Mancienne can play RB.

And we can say goodbye to Sinclair if we do go after Schweinsteiger...

keep the squad as it is...we can´t give any away, imagine we wouldn´t have had Alex during Carvalhos injury and so on...

we don´t need any new players, espicially when we have Essien back in the team

after the transfers of Bosingwa and Deco nobody really expects any transfers, i guess

Well, yeah. Basically, Kalou and Malouda are far too inconsistent, yet they are being chosen because they are peforming better in training than Sinclair is. Schweinsteiger is a better player than Malouda and Kalou and would therefore be given the chances.
