Drogba: I don't want to quit Bridge

Didier Drogba insists he is now fully committed to Chelsea after admitting he had made his mind up to leave the club at the end of last season.

The Ivory Coast international was unhappy when Jose Mourinho left Stamford Bridge early last season and was linked with a move to one of Europe's other top clubs over the summer.

He has since expressed his happiness with life at Chelsea under new boss Luiz Felipe Scolari and is hoping to play a major role this term after returning from injury.

Drogba has yet to hold talks over a contract extension but is looking to enjoy a long career with the Blues.

"I made my decision to stay at Chelsea before the Champions League final," Drogba told Le 10 Sport.

"The club and the fans showed me what I wanted to see.

"Indeed, at a certain time I wanted to leave. I said as much but you can change your mind, can't you?

"Do Chelsea want to keep me until 2010? So far, I am just focused on my health and trying to get back to my best level again before talking about an extension."

Drogba joined Chelsea from Marseille in 2004 and he concedes he would be more interested in returning to the French club rather than going to Italy or Spain.

He said: "Going back to Marseille is still in a corner of my mind. I am serious.

"If I have to come back to France one day, it will only be at Marseille. That is for sure. And if I come back it will only be to win titles.

"I still give myself five good years at a very high level but today I am more concerned by stability.

"I want to belong to the club's history of Chelsea. Today my wish is to stay at Chelsea rather than leaving to play in Italy or Spain."

Here we go again :P

I'm losing my admiration for him. For the past 5 years (think that's right?) my family have moaned and groaned constantly about him but I always stood up for him and for one season I had a blatant arguement for him when his power and form saw him become top scorer in the PL.

Age is starting to take it's toll and he's constant whinning is REALLY pissing me off. Yesterday, at Roma, for example, he took a free-kick and it hit the wall the ball came out into Drogba's reach but instead of going and getting the ball he went off to moan at the linesman complaining for handball. I'm sorry, Didier, but that sort of mentality was in the old Chelsea. Chelsea has changed and we now expect a higher work rate and more desire to want every ball all the time.

Maybe it's because he's still a tad tired after his injuries, but that's no excuse to just give-up.

I won't be sadened to see him go in the summer or January, as long as we bring in some quality replacement.

Do you know it's for certain that it's him that is constantly whining and not the media going in circles?

A lot players complain to the ref if they saw a handball as it is against the rule so I don't see a problem with him doing it.

I'm not talkig about what the media are saying, I'm talking about how I see Drogba performing on the pitch and it seems his heart isn't there.

A lot of players complain but they don't run away from the ball to protest. It probably wasn't even a heandball, it was just a shit free-kick that Lamps should have taken.

I dunno, maybe I'm exagerating too much, we'll see.
