riks12 3
I'd give Di Santo a first team place instead of Anelka even tho he has yet to score a goal for us. From what I have seen, he is similar player to Drogba: fast, strong, tall. He can win headers and create chances to other players and I believe he could score some goals aswell. With gettin on off the bench for 30 mins, it's hard to score a goal. Edited October 29, 2008 by riks12
.Cee 50
Touche On a whole, the squad depth and quality is better then any other EPL team. Anelka has hardly set Chelsea on fire. I have always had a doubt about him. Last season and the season before we carried Shevchenko while he struggle to come to terms with life in England, and also Ballack when he first arrived. The quality of our squad allowed us to have passengers. Atm.....Anelka is a passenger. Did I get myself out of that ok? I'm not sure I understand what you're saying...

Aesthetic Relic 301
He's saying the quality of the other players disguises Anelka's, in his opinion, half-hearted performances. Correct.....On another forum someone posted..... "Anelka is the sort of striker who'll get you the thrid goal in a 3-0 win. He'll never take a game by the scruff of the neck and lead the line convincingly". I couldnt have put it better myself.
Elliott 7
He hasn't scored a single goal when the scoreline has been even this season. Although the two times he scored last season, he scored the first goal in both games.
BlueLion. 21,491
But the fact is, he scores, and at the end of the day, that's what a striker does.
Elliott 7
It's not that simple though, we need our striker to score important goals and Anelka just doesn't do that.
Aesthetic Relic 301
But the fact is, he scores, and at the end of the day, that's what a striker does. Sometimes scoring goals is not enough. He's not the type of striker who'll rough up defences and make the 90mins a nightmare for them. He needs to up his game big time.
