Phil Driver 503
Maybe but maybe Jose realises it is a game we need to win and therefore having 2 more attacking focused CM is better for the plan tonight. Mikel will start plenty of games. Whether that be with Lamps or Ramires or another CM, like it or not Jose will play him. What did you call it btw when Lamps was "dropped" against Everton? So he doesnt think we need a DM who just sits and helps us keep a clean sheet and we win 1-0 0r 2-0 are you saying that with Mikel in the team we have less chance of winning ,that is what it sounds like and I would agree that we have a better chance of winning with Rammy and Lamps. Yes IMO. I like Lamps a lot but when Mikel and Ramires are as a partnership I feel more secure because Mikel will do his defensive duties and allow the likes of Ramires to roam forward. I know you might not like to hear but it expect to see Ramires and Mikel a lot this season.

You first stated Mikel was not even going to be part of his plans which you were proven wrong as he played a few games this season. Also don't be surprised when Mikel does start one of our next games.
Phil Driver 503
He was always going to play some, Emenalo gave him a four year deal ,but what I knew was Jose would suss him out very quickly and it has taken 3 games?

Phil Driver 503
It is a big slap in the face from Jose we had a big problem in the 1st half at Spurs and he made the change ,some suggested that was because he was being rested for this game. He was taken off for one reson ,he was the problem and he has been dropped tonight ,all other explanations will gat a fair hearing . I am delighted for one reason I want Chelsea to win . And we need to win. No problems tonight.

Las7 951
You'd think we've won against Barca last night, relax guys it was Steaua - you can't draw any conclusions from last nights game.
hjperdeath 2,226
Lampard was still quite poor, Ramires on the other hand was brilliant. Still need to work on positioning and keep possession.

Interestingly the team manages to win games comfortably even with "poor" lampard. Football is a funny game.

Football is a funny game. You're taking away credit from a lot of players by saying that. Yes Lampard played, scored a spectacular goal, but we could have had a more solid midfield by playing someone else. Due to Marco being injured and Obi rested for Norwich, we had to go with Lampard. hjperdeath 2,226
In some ways you gotta admire the fanboys very loyal a bit like those Justin Bieber fans, loyal to the very end You're now my daily source of entertainment, now that the other guy doesn't show up. Mikel would have been worse than Lampard against Steaua cause we didn't need him. We needed someone who would aid in faster transitions to fuel our counter-attacks. Something Ramires did, and Lampard was average at. If Marco was there and available in our team list, he would have probably played. So to make you happy, yes it is true. In the game plan we used against Steaua, Mikel would have been very poor, much poorer than Lampard was. I would see us scoring only 1 out of those 4 due to him calming things down and aiming at keeping possession.
