I can see why he was voted there and he is definately one of the greats, though for me it has to super frankie, due to everything he has achieved for us, and his goalscoring record is unbelievable for a midfielder and he is the biggest legend of all legends... :) SIR FRANKIE LAMPARD.

look and see who has a statue

Yeah but i never saw him play, for me it started with zola, wise, petrescu, di matteo, vialli, tore andre flo, desailly etc which along with my dad supporting them got me into supporting chelsea and then we got lampard who i have seen from his very first game to where he is now and he has always been my hero...

Also give it a few years and he will 100% have one.

that is what annoys me . People saying BEST / Worst ever without really recognising that we have a history going back over 100 years ..

To have 3 of last years team in an ALL Time top 4 is insulting to our past great players

Yeah i get where you are coming from, but this has been the most successful era in chelseas history so when people think off greatest then they are always gonna think of things like that in recent memories...

Also it will always happen. In 20 years time, the top 4 will be completly different based on the people at the time as everyone has short term memory in this regard.

And when someone thinks of their hero's its hard to just pick someone out of history who we have all seen in videos but not seen over the course of real time, play and develop in every moment. All many of us have seen, perhaps i should only speak from my experience, is people telling me what thye were like and extended highlights of their career. Of recent players, mainly because of my age i have seen week in week out, when they have played badly, when they have played well, and enjoyed all their successes with them... Which is why a greatest list is always gonna be somewhat biased.

I am not saying anyone has forgot them. Every chelsea fan should know who peter osgood is, but you cannot deny that based on when you started supporting chelsea/your age your memories of players will be completely different from those you never saw play and those who you did...

two years ago Zola was voted Chelsea greatest ever ,,,, What happened last year was Lady Luck turned for us .. People seem to have forgotten

the attitude of players prior to AVB leaving ..very few added to their reputations last year and Lampard certainly didnt .

I don't see why he wouldn't be the greatest. The main man in the team during the most successful period in the clubs history. Not only did the great man do it domestically but he also did it in Europe. One of the few players in the history of the club who could mount a genuine claim of being able to get into any starting 11 in any side in his pomp. One of the best strikers on the planet for a very long time and probably the most complete centre forward of the modern age. Didier Drogba had it all and he did it all at Chelsea.

The argument for Drogba isn't one of sentiment or nostalgia, it's one steeped in logic and fact. Lampard and Terry will have won more than him at the club and both are absolute Chelsea legends but I, like a lot of people, feel that it is Drogba that defined the most successful era in the club's history. For me, when you were talking about Chelsea or other clubs o fans were talking about playing against Chelsea they were talking about playing against Drogba. Some may have been here longer, some may have won more, some may have been prettier to watch playing, some may rekindle a greater sense of nostalgia but none had the impact of Drogba, the finest striker I've ever seen, and probably ever will see, and, the greatest player I've ever seen play in a Chelsea jersey.

He isn't the greatest because the almighty "zolayes" says so.
