We've missed out big time in this window.
BlueLion. 21,491
I would like to remind everyone before Robinho was even thought of as a Chelsea player, that the vast majority of us were very confident our squad was strong enough to win the league. My opinion remains unchanged.
Elliott 7
Yeah but then we saw the Wigan and Tottenham games!
.Cee 50
And what happened a couple of seasons ago when we have a bigger squad but was flooded with injuries.
EskWeston 696
Yeah but then we saw the Wigan and Tottenham games! Not just those games, but the lack of depth upfront we have now. Letting SWP go and Sheva go without replacements. Effectively we have Di Santo and Sinclair as replacements. Which in itself is a good thing, but factor into that Malouda's apparent lack of effort and Drogba's injuries it does leave us light. warnie_666 1,081
What was the losses we recorded last season...? 80 million pounds is it? 80 million minus 32 million(money aved off robinho's transfer). Wow...plus we have offloaded highly paid players like SWP and Sheva. Thats great.
Elliott 7
And SWP and Sheva's fees would have put a significant dent into that 80million too.
EskWeston 696
Cutting our wage bill down is certainly a massive help for us going forward. We cleared out a lot of players this summer which means we are making a profit on transfers this summer and also cutting back on wages. If we can seriously start using our academy and producing the talent then we will be in a very healthy situation.
warnie_666 1,081
Exactly, Hoping to see us break even by 1 yr later than expected as opposed to 2-3 years as predicted before..
