I worked with a West Ham geezer who said Dickens was brilliant for them FB. After seeing him play me and the Chelsea boys started calling the West Ham bloke Charles because of his Dickens story.

That's hilarious Iggy.

He wasn't that bad for them, if I remember rightly, perhaps we had too many Great Expectations.... I'll get me coat

Bakayoko inspired and ‘very motivated’ to do well at AC Milan

https://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2018/8/18/17727300/bakayoko-inspired-and-very-motivated-to-do-well-at-ac-milan

“I learned a lot and worked very hard in the Premier League, but I think I might be more suited to Italian football and am very happy that Milan called me.

“I started in some important games at Chelsea and think I gained experience that will serve me well in the future. It didn’t all go positively(no shit sherlock), but I am very motivated for this new adventure. Milan won so much on an international level and in terms of history. I wouldn’t want to be at any other club.”

I don't know, Milan will have a lot of the ball and will probably discover very quickly how mediocre he is with it. Fair enough they won't play the same sort of style we are going to be playing but again, they will learn that his physical qualities outweigh his technical. I'm a bit intrigued because I generally don't think he offers anything more than Franck Kessie, who was highly rated and has a big talent too.

I hope it works out for him, he seems a geniunely nice bloke. True shame he didn't play well here. The EPL is a brutally fast paced league. I think the more tactical and slower pace in Serie A might suit him. One small problem. Conte is in line to take over if Gattuso gets the sack. Eeeek

I have been saying this since he's joined AC I think he will do well there

Hope so.  He didn't fail here through lack of effort.  Just not up to scratch, not with the way we want to play.  Hope his career gets kickstarted again in Milan.

AC Milan boss launches into criticism of Chelsea man Bakayoko

https://www.teamtalk.com/news/ac-milan-boss-launches-into-criticism-of-chelsea-man-bakayoko

AC Milan coach Gennaro Gattuso did not hold back on criticising on-loan Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko after Saturday’s 3-2 loss at Napoli.

The Rossoneri had led 2-0 at the Stadio San Paolo, but a double from Piotr Zielinski and a Dries Mertens winner capped a stunning comeback.

Bakayoko was introduced early in the second half when Milan were up 2-1, but he failed to help protect the lead.

“Bakayoko has to learn how to get the ball,” Gattuso said in his post-match press conference. “We must work correctly. It will not be easy.

“One week is not enough to remove the defects of a player. I would have preferred to be managing older, more experienced club players.”

If anybody can teach him how to get the ball gattuso is the man for the job
