Radamel Falcao

That is what we achieved without having a high percentage of goals scored by a striker. Imagine what we could do if we had one of them as well...

No.

This is what we achieved by an attacking system that is based on an striker that does not only finish but one who could also hold-up, assist, and create space. The offense is not a bunch of players each scoring his goals. Falcao has 17 goals in La Liga, half of the entire tally of his team. If we were playing the system that Athletico play which is based only on Falcao in the past 8 years, Frank probably won't have reached 100 goals by now.

Love Jackson Martinez! If and when he builds his reputation in Europe he'll be another big player out of Porto.

Lewandowski is nothing like Drogba, not even close! I like Cavani a lot if it ain't Falcao I'd gladly take Cavani.

It seems you haven't even seen Lewandowski play. He might not have the physique of Drogba but his play is very much Didieresque. If he could build some muscle he could be up top with him.

Put stats asside then... In your opinion do you think we would score more goals with falcao up front instead of torres.. For me that answer is without a shadow of a doubt yes, and that is the question that matters more... Whether having falcao would reduce the amount of goals lampy has doesn't really matter because he is not here yet, and for me that question is the one that matters when moving forward. Should we be relying as heavily on mata for goals... No.

LMAO.

In fact I think you are Ibrahimovic himself, because no one in the world believes Ibrahimovic is that good, but Ibra. In fact Zlatan is the greatest asshole ever to grace in football world.

Yes, Falcao will never be like Ibra, because no player in the world will ever be that overrated.

The swedish was a dominant figure during the years of the decadence of Seria A. Then he went to Barcelona, where he was no more than a shy character (even Pedro scored more goals than him). Then he went back to Seria A, even more decadent at that time.

Now 31 years old he is playing in French League, 5th in UEFA ranking. I think you used to play a lot of PES during the PS2 era...

I don't think you know much about Ibra. You surely don't know anything about me.

Yes Falcao will score more than Torres simply because his finish is much much better. However, in our current system he won't score anywhere near what he is currently scoring for Madrid.

We don't need him to because we are not as heavily relieant upon 1 man for goals which is surely a good thing. I am not really too bothered about who scores if it is winning us games and having a prolific striker would take alot of the burden of our midfield. We need a striker who will convert the chances we will create for him, and falcao would be able to do that.

But why would we pay 50m for him if he is going to score in all competitions no more than 20-25 goals a season. Plenty of cheaper striker who could that.

Because he can do spectacular things and he will score important goals... Didier drogba didn't score many last season, but he scored when it matters and his goals were worth more than a number would suggest. And plenty of cheaper strikers who could do that... Well yes in theory. The majority of those are linked much more heavily to other teams and when people see us coming we get charged more. If falcao was up front we would be in and probably would have won the CWC, how much value would you place on that etc.

Lewandowski could definitely do that and although i doubt its completely true apparently he would cost less than 20 mil, making him much better value for money, but this isn't fifa and he looks like going to united and if he wants to go elsewhere theres not much we can do about it.

I really don't get the "either Falcao or no one" thinking. There are plenty of strikers who could do the job for us up front. And how often can he do "spectacular" things because I very very rarely see him creating his own goals.

Scoring in 2 EL finals does not make you a big game player. Falcao still has a lot to do and probably will never be the big game player that Drogba was. And Drogba was not only scoring goals in those important matches, he was practically playing at LB at Camp Nou. I don't think Falcao would do that.

We need to change Torres, there is no question in that but Falcao is not the messiah that will magically solve all our players. We also need to strengthen both our defense and midfield. Any decent striker up front, not just falcao and we would have won the CWC.

Yeah but again, its not as easy as going, demba ba is cheap, lewy is great value, buy them. Right now we are strongly linked to 2 players, walcott and falcao, and if it comes down to it, he may be expensive but there are not many better than him, and it would move us forward more so than just torres.

This just proves you dont know SHIT about Zlatan. He scored 16 goals in 29 appearances and anyone who knows anything about Zlatan knows that he didnt get along with Pep. He also took too much spotlight away from Messi.

Anyone claiming that Zlatan was a shy character in Barca needs to get their facts right.

Judging by past experience, us being so heavily linked with him probably means that we won't actually buy him.

No, it means (just like Neymar, Modric and Hulk) that we actually are in talks with him and Atletico.

When the media hears anything, they overrract to make it more appealing to readers. All of the three players I listed were trully having negotiations with us. Neymar gave up because he was convinced to stay until 2014, we had alteady agreed to pay his 45m buy-out clause. Hulk had an offer of 26m and a certain wage he had already accepted, but Porto asked for 38m an we backed up. Modric was part of a long conversation between us and spuds, it got up to 40m and even this high did not make Levy sell him (who was later sold for 33m).

So, if the media discovers something, why would they write something everybody already knows, "Chelsea in advanced talks over Radamel"? It is way better to guess we have already finished and if they get it right, they can praise themselves.

I would rather be linked with him than not. And the bookies who make money of these things put us at evens, and whilst they may not be literal due to other factors that affect odds, it definitely means there is something there and a chance we could be getting him.

Who else is out there who might be available in January and would suit the style of football we're trying to play?

1. You rarly seen him creating his own goals? you havent seen him enough.

2. That sentence with Drogba playing LB at Camp Nou.... what? thats realy isnt something to think about when you're buying a striker.

3. Any decent striker would have won us the CWC, but thats it? winning CWC means something? we should have a striker who is good enough to win us the CL, the leauge, not just a striker who is "Better than Torres". Because Torres is so awful alot of you just want to change him for anyone, for January its ok, but in the longer term we should get someone in the highest level because thats the team we want to be.

I know that much about Ibra, he might have the skills, it takes a train to make you a great footballer, not only skills and great goals, and about you, you are one guy who believes Zlatan is really great, even talking about him in a poetic.
