RamiCFC9 258
We should have a Neymar vs Falcao debate
Swoopz 183
Err, why is that being posted in here??because you guys locked the neymar thread
Funkyflashman 187
I would rather see Neymar here than Falcao. He is young, would grow up with Oscar, Hazard and Neymar. Plays more in keeping with our style. As special as Falcao is, I'd rather see Neymar here
jmarlow 458
if Torres starts banging in goals consistently then we should sign Neymar if Torres is still inconsistent then Falcao should come in, or we can just go nuts in FM mode and sign them both! The problem is Falcao will not just be at Atletico waiting for us to solve the Torres issue. Other options will be available for him, like citeh and PSg. Rambo 1,729
Might not be a popular opinion, but I'd rather buy Neymar for 60m than Falcao. If I could sign one player, it'd be Neymar without a doubt. His upside is through the roof and I don't want to hear that bullshit about him not being able to play PL football. The kid can ball and would be a revolutionary signing for us. He seems to be Barcelona or Madrid bound but it's not crazy to think that he could end up here now that we have Oscar, Luiz and Ramires. Wouldn't be surprised if the board had an agenda all along to tempt Neymar here by signing those guys in the first place. It's also interesting to hear news about Neymar wanting to learn English... Rmpr 8,977
Because we clearly lack depth in Neymar position. We dont have Hazard, Marin, KDB, etc.We need Falcao (or another senior striker) to fight for Torres starting spot. I dont belive Sturridge will stay and Lukaku isnt good enough. As much as I like Neymar, our THREE MAESTROS should not be benched.

He's got more potential than Sturridge and he could easily become a class striker once he gets used to EPL style of football.

It is not about EPL style of football, this is bullshit, a talented player is a talented player (anywhere). You can know if someone is gifted only with a few touches on the ball, 5 minutes you already feel his skills. You can see the class of Hazard, Oscar, CR7, Neymar, etc, just buy witnessing a simple training session. I was simply not impressed with Lukaku. He can make a great back-up striker, not a player that would contest a top finisher. RM gets the best of Benzema and Higuain because they need to fight for position. He played against China and Iraq, do they offer any challenge or physical thoughness?Imagine him against Stoke! It is diferent playing as a winger, you can avoid contact by dribling, but there is no space inside the box. He does not offer a super aerial threat, top strikers have that ability. Falcao, Cavani, Didier, etc.

Rmpr 8,977
OMG I know! Imagine Hazard, Mata and Oscar against Stoke as well!!!I dont think you read it well. Try one more time...Messi...He is a midget, but he has a good header. Barcelona just dont cross the ball (they dont even take corners), when he had to perform he did, Rome 2009?Neymar, otherwise, has missed some easy ones. The Skipper 20,609
I dont think you read it well. Try one more time...I read it perfectly well mate. I know that example wasn't the best to use but to say Neymar would suffer up front against a team like Stoke because he has no aerial prowess/physical built is quite irrational. My point is I know that Neymar isn't naturally a striker but... You don't need a big target man up front to beat Stoke.

Stoke was to point out his lack of strengh (he is weaker than Oscar), as a midfield player, I dont see a problem, but as a Striker, it is needed. The header, was another example of why Neymar wont perform as a Striker.Maybe it was my english, but I really though it was clear...I think we should move our talk elsewhere, it is not about Falcao anymore. You also don't need to be amazing at heading the ball or cutting a cross to be a striker either. Forget Neymar as an example. What about someone like Guisseppe Rossi who used to lead the line for Villarreal so well before he got injured? He's a great striker but isn't exactly known for his strength or heading ability is he? Tevez, Aguero, Messi etc. etc.

But nonetheless you will agree that Messi is not an outstanding aerial threat. You can attribute that to Barcelona's style of play or Messi's strengths etc but the fact is hes not a superb threat in the air and Barca don't seem to have many problems breaking teams down. This isn't directed at you but I feel that the argument that says "So and so won't succeed in the Premier league because of his size" really has to stop now. Mata, silva, oscar, cazorla etc they're all fine. I think Neymar would be too, and I for one would love to see him running at Stoke. The back four would have a nightmare...
