Fernando 6,585
Torres was not a Carlo buy i don't understand how people can continue on and on to say he was bought because of Carlo.. CHELSEA HERO WILKINS: ABRAMOVICH NEVER INTERFERES IN TEAM, TRANSFER POLICY Chelsea legend Ray Wilkins insists club owner Roman Abramovich does NOT interfere in team selection.Wilkins shatters the myth that Chelsea managers have no say in which players are bought and sold and are told who to pick by the club’s owner. He revealed to The Sun: “In the time that I was on the coaching staff, it was always the coach that selected the players.“I know for a fact that Carlo wanted Fernando Torres and David Luiz so Mr Abramovich went out and got them.“I don’t know if that situation still applies today but there has clearly been a change in philosophy lately.“They are bringing in much younger guys and hoping they can be the way forward but in my opinion it is a real mistake to be releasing the likes of Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole.“When I see Sir Alex Ferguson talking about giving Ryan Giggs another Premier League contract at the age of 39, I’ve no idea why Chelseawould let Lampard go.“Frank has a similar appetite to Ryan and the same fitness level." http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/chelsea-hero-wilkins-abramovich-never-interferes-team-transfer-policy-3757771#.U7BzDfldX1s

Tbf people don't always tell the truth for many different reasons. I am sure Ray still want to comeback to the club one day and the last thing he would do is to come out and sort of criticizing Roman. I think we as fans can see it is clear Torres and Sheva are 2 clear Roman buys. Otherwise, I don't think we can explain how Torres lasted as long as he did here despite his terrible performances. A lot of things about Roman are indeed exaggerated such as him forcing managers to pick the team he wants...etc but him wanting sexy football for example have clear foundation. Jose was sacked in 2007 for that main reason as we know.
LDN Blue 7,903
I don't like when people compare Lampard's situation with Giggs'. The difference is, and justfiably so, Lampard doesn't want to be a part-time player like Giggs has accepted. He believes he can still be more sporadic than that and that's why he doesn't want to stay for the sake of it. Giggs knew he'd play about 10 games, if even that, he was resigned to it and accepted it. Lampard obviously wants more than that and he deserves a chance to prove it elsewhere.
