LAM09 7,054
The new egyptian winger 23 years who joined basel FC a week ago in place of salah ...he better than salah in everything except speed...watch skills He is a decent player, but he needs to prove himself in Europe. Salah has done that to an extent. bigfan and MoudMagdy
romeeh 139
I doubt that he is better. Salah is playing for Chelsea, not Basel or some Egyptian teamhaha maybe he join chelsea if he score against chelsea in champion league MoudMagdy, Madmax and The Chels
oman43 45
Salah has looked strong in pre season thus far. Now that the world cup boys are back I can't see him forcing himself into the "go to guy" coming off the bench. Should be given a chance though when the times right. Every player suffers a dip in form at some point - Oscar's sexond half of the season IMO was very poor and even eden went cold at points, maybe this could be the season Salah has an influence. Maybe. romeeh
robsblubot 3,595
I doubt that he is better. Salah is playing for Chelsea, not Basel or some Egyptian team It's far more difficult to do things in pace; even controlling the football can be a challenge when running at full sprint. Time on the ball is a luxury that is increasingly scarce in tight matches. Salah is an interesting player precisely because he does what he does in blazing pace. However, my point is that speed is not only important for counter attacking. Speed of execution, being a cross, dribble, pass, or a shot, is important especially in today's game with so little space between the lines. Chelsea already had players who can shoot from afar - Willian and Andre for example. We did not have a pacey player like Salah. romeeh, bigfan and lito
lionsden 4,689
in last jose report he said he aiming to use willian and oscar as 10# player because of willian hard working and oscar creativity so i suppose shurrle and salah will be chosen for RW specially after impressing games that shurrle played in world cup which led jose to try using shurrle as starter next to the brazilian scince he was acting better than them on world cup and salah will be used for counter attacks against weak teams i think

termninja 5,290
He definitely works hard and that can only be a big plus. He could play an important part this season in the cups and when we need more versatility or when we're chasing result. What disappoints me game after game with Salah is his football intelligence and decision making. Sadly they limit his game and throughout all of our pre season I believe I haven't seen a single genius move from him. Best part of his game was his explosive running into empty space. He even disappointed me with his dribbling, but I guess I may be spoiled after watching Eden for so long with that glue on his feet and fifa humiliation of opponents xDMohammed can be really good when we need counter attacks or as a late sub when we're chasing result and that's what's he's gonna be doing this season pretty much. If he does that well and we win PL or CL I'd expect his general confidence to grow and that next season he does much better, bur this season from him I expect a hard working pacy mediocre squad player who needs more time, experience and games. dee25 and Amblève.

Agreed. Salah is a skillful little dude... Moses has no skill whatsoever; he runs and crosses/shoots and he needs lots of space to operate in. Don't people see his quick feet and tight control of the football at all times? No the end product isn't there just yet, and he will certainly struggle when tightly marked once the league starts, but those are the hurdles he's got to overcome to develop. But he seems like a pass and move player which I like Mohammed Seif
The Rising Sun 711
he played really well when he was on the left side of the pitch, where cutting in was not possible. That forced him to beat players with skill and pace, which he is very capable of doing. The problem with him playing right wing is that the option to cut in is always there and he cant naturally dribble to much with his right foot. That means that every time he does cut in, there are 2-3 opponents around to cut the move off, but on the left wing, he was doing quite well. romeeh 139
some newspaper saying that jose has changed salah place in field into LW instead of RW as main position and asked him to use his left foot with long passes from the left side.... .i know jose has tested him on both sides manytimes before but i prefer him as LW than RW although his main position was RW and he will cut inside less than before if he staied as LW and less chance to score too but he was more dangerous last nite as LW which is "whats better for business".
