Spike 12,049
He made a few morally questionably decisions and some might argue terrible actions but on the whole he is quite the legend and that is what makes him a human. Much, much, much more good than bad. Onya Nelson.

Drogzola 283
Loved the tribute to Mandela before the games.
EBH 283
God bless. A man who's aims and achievements were magnificent and the end in itself heroic. His means at times however, unacceptable. This is fair enough to say, but I think, it is not so easy to rise to be a big leader like Mandela without stepping on the toes. Also in South Africa, it is very difficult for them to do what Gandhi and Luther King do... they do not even have the right to make peaceful protests. Fulham Broadway 17,317
The tributes seem a bit over the top now. Corporate media and politicians leeching on to the great man. South Africa is one of the richest countries in the World, but is also one of the most unequal societies in the World. I am sure Mandela wanted more than this, more than ANC politicians building luxury mansions out of taxpayers money with swimming pools protected by guards and barbed wire, whilst vast swathes live in poverty and squalor. His dream and work must be realised by people who he trusted.

You wont believe how corrupt our politicians are.Unfortunately its not going to change anytime soon unless we can get the poor majority to open their eyes and stop voting for such corrupt arseholes. The_Flash 1,144
As i said at the beginning of this thread, lets not turn into a political argument or discussion even. It was simply a condolences thread. Let's leave it that way..

Good points Drogzola. I think politicians and the word corruption are synonymous the World over. But Mandela and SA, more than any nation deserve more from his fellow ANC politicians.
